The 2014 Girl Scout
Cookie Sale is almost here!
January 23 - February 16

Dear Girl Scout Families:

The most anticipated Girl Scout program is just around the corner... girls are gearing up for what promises to be our most exciting Cookie Sale season ever.
You probably already know how much fun girls have selling Girl Scout Cookies, and how excited our customers are to see them each year. But did you realize that the sale is about so much more than selling cookies... girls are learning Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills and Business Ethics.
As parents, we know you will support your girls throughout the sale. We hope the information in this special Cookie newsletter will help.
lf you have any questions, or need additional information, please contact Denise Fiorelli, product and retail sales director, at or 561-427-0180.

How the Cookie Crumbles

One of the most popular questions our customers ask is "How much of the cookie money to the girls get?" If your answer is somewhere between 65 and 72 cents, you're only telling part of the story. The fact is, 100% of our cookie proceeds stay right her to benefit local Girl Scouts, and $2.57 of every box goes directly to the girls, in the form of troop proceeds, girl rewards, and the delivery of Girl Scout program. Goals and Proceeds for 2014

The goal for the 2014 Cookie Sale is 1.6 million boxes. GSSEF has committed that if we reach that goal, the base proceed on EVERY box sold during the 2014 sale will increase from 65 to 70 cents per box. That's an additional $80,000 (or more) in proceeds that troops can earn. In addition to the new and improved rewards that girls can earn, troops can earn up to 91 cents on every box sold. How, you ask? It's easy:

Base proceed - $.65

Early Bird* - up to $.03

Fall Sale participation* - $.04

Cookie U participation** - $.03
Opt-out for older girls*** - $.02

Service Unit growth**** - up to $.09

1.6 million goal bonus - $.05

For a complete list of cookie proceed options, click here.

*In order to be eligible for the Early Bird and Fall Sale proceeds, troops must meet participation requirements.

**Cookie U proceed is only available to Daisies through Cadettes.

***Older girl opt-out option is only available to Cadettes, Seniors & Ambassadors.

****Service Unit growth is a troop proceed based on the total growth in volume of all troops in the Service Unit and can be 3, 6 or 9 cents.

Even More Reasons to be a
Cookie U Graduate

Girls who participate in a program like Cookie University are more likely to reach their Cookie Sale goals. This program offers a great opportunity for Daisies through Cadettes to learn lots of valuable skills they can use during the sale and beyond. And now there is another great reason to come--girls who "graduate" from Cookie U will earn 3 cents more per box they sell for their troop. And you can choose from two great locations. There's something for parents too. Shop for Cookie Sale merchandise in our Cookie U stores, and join us for a special presentation just for parents. Click here to get all the info.

Justin Timberlake is up for grabs during the 2014 Cookie Sale

Okay, not exactly. But two tickets to Justin's March 4 concert at the BB&T Center are. And just to make it more interesting, GSSEF will provide a limousine so that the winner and her guest can travel in style. Qualifying is easy. Each Girl Scout who sells 180 or more boxes of Girl Scout Cookies during the 2014 sale will receive a chance. Sell 250 or more boxes and get two chances. All sales count, including Cookies for the Military sales. The drawing will be held on February 25 and the winner will be notified by February 26.
