I Heard It Through the Green Grapevine

This recurring feature will help dispel the myths and rumors we often hear through the Girl Scout "Green Grapevine." Most of the answers can be found in our Essentials documents in the Volunteer Vault.

Dear Green Grapevine-

I am a new leader and was told I need to open a banking  account for the Troop.  Can I open an account at any bank? I'm not that great at finances, can someone help me?

Sincerely,

Lee Giltender

Watch this video for easy step-by-step instructions.
The sale doesn't end until November 15, so even if your troop hasn't had a chance to sell yet, there is still plenty of time to get started. The easiest thing to do is sell magazines, and that can be done all online from home. It's EASY to get started by setting up and creating your Online Magazine Orders account. Simply log onto girlscouts.qspgao.com/gssef  to register. The entire registration process only takes about ten minutes. Once this is completed, the process of selling online magazines is already at work for you. The girls will earn rewards and the troop will earn $2.50 for every online magazine order.

Interested in getting started or need information?

If your troop is not yet participating, but you would like to, it just takes a quick phone call to Denise Fiorelli, director of product and retail sales. She will get you everything you need to get started. Please contact Denise at 561-427-0180 or dfiorelli@gssef.org. You can also find more information about the sale on our website here.
