Town Hall Meeting - November 12 Please join us for a Town Hall Meeting of all registered adult members on Tuesday, November 12, 6:00 p.m., at the Oakland Park Service Center, to learn about the work being done by the Council Service Fee Task Group. This team of volunteers and staff is reviewing data and survey results and will make a recommendation to the Board of Directors about whether or not to initiate a Council Service Fee in the 2014 - 15 Girl Scout membership year.
At the National Council Meeting in November 2011, national delegates voted to allow councils to add a Council Service Fee (CSF) to assist in managing the costs of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls within their council jurisdiction. It provides councils with the option of assessing a fee to help cover costs related to the administration of Girl Scout program for girls. The amount of the fee is determined by each individual council and cannot exceed the cost of the full-year annual membership dues set by GSUSA for the year that the annual Council Service Fee is being charged. This is a girl fee and only applies to girl members. Data and survey results will be presented at this informational Town Hall Meeting, followed by Q & A.There will also be an opportunity for you to make comments. We hope you will be able to attend. Your Opinion Matters - Seeking Your FeedbackGirl Scouts of Southeast Florida is gathering input to aid us in a decision regarding the finances of our local Girl Scout organization and the possible addition of a Council Service Fee. Please take a few minutes to share with us what you value most about the organization and the programming provided to girls and volunteers to provide the best possible Girl Scout experience for our members. Your answers are confidential and we appreciate the candor in your responses. If you have any questions, please contact Cindy McHeran, Vice President of Operations, at cmcheran@gssef.org or 561-427-0179. Please use the links below to participate in the survey. Thank you. Dear Green Grapevine-
I was interested in taking my girls camping this year. What training do I need?
