Technology Updates
NHP.org

Last year we redesigned our secure provider portal, NHPNet, where we made it easier to access transactional tools such as eligibility verification. This year, we are redesigning our public website NHP.org. On NHP.org, providers can access important information on how to do business with NHP including: payment policies, network notices, forms, and clinical guidelines. We are excited to share this new design and make it easier for you to find what you need. NHP is also launching a new secure member portal where members can access information on their plans and benefits. We will be sharing more information with you on this new design in the next few weeks.

Provider Directory

Coming soon, we look forward to sharing an enhanced online Provider Directory. In addition to a redesigned interface, the new Provider Directory will include features such as: improved search capabilities, integrated maps/directions, and easy printing options. Stay tuned for more information!

Affordable Care Act Update
With Federal open enrollment around the corner, keep an eye out for further provider communication from NHP through our Provider eNewsletter, notification letters, and NHP.org. Here are a few things to look out for:
  • Open enrollment begins on 10/1/13 for coverage on or after 1/1/14. Current members and new members to NHP can sign up for an ACA compliant plan through the Health Connector, our direct sales market, or intermediaries.
  • New ACA compliant products to be announced soon. Members and providers should expect to be updated with NHP product offerings.
  • New membership card designs for 2014.

If you have a specific question related to the upcoming ACA requirements, please email [email protected].

Antidepressant Medication Management (AMM) Member Outreach Program - Referral Information
Neighborhood Health Plan (NHP) and its Behavioral Health Partner, Beacon Health Strategies (Beacon) are pleased to announce the availability of a program to improve medication adherence for members who are prescribed antidepressants.  The Anti-Depressant Medication Management (AMM) Member Outreach Program is a Quality Improvement program administered by Beacon.  Trained health coaches provide telephonic member outreach to enrolled members. NHP Members may benefit from participation by having a successful outcome associated with improved adherence for their newly prescribed antidepressant medication therapy.  As a provider, you have the opportunity to refer and enroll eligible NHP members in this program.  Referring prescribers will receive a monthly status report for all members you have referred.

Eligible members must:
  • Be an NHP member and at least 18 years of age
  • Be starting a new course of prescription antidepressant treatment and thus have NOT filled a prescription for an antidepressant medication in the immediately preceding 90 days from when the new prescription was filled
  • Have been recently (within last 30 days) prescribed an antidepressant which was filled at a pharmacy
Benefits of Referral Program:
  1. Provides direct patient / provider contact to discuss the program leading to improved enrollment when compared to automated calls
  2. Improves member's understanding of program's purpose and value
  3. Provider receives monthly reporting on patient status in program
Questions about this program or requests for referral/enrollment forms may be directed to 781-994-7572 or by email at [email protected].
