Annual School Supply Drive

 

Please donate new school supplies and help us give our local kids in need a great start to the school year. Notebooks, binders, crayons, backpacks, pens, pencils, markers, lunch boxes, rulers and other supplies are greatly appreciated. Supplies will be collected in the vestibule during business hours through August 28th.

 

 
The Book Sale is Coming!

 

Donations for the 2015 Book Sale are now being accepted.  Books, DVDs & CDs can be dropped off in the storage pod anytime, located in the rear of the parking lot.  Please no textbooks, magazines, VHS or audiocassettes. Volunteers are still needed to help sort books and work the sale. Call or stop by the library for more info about signing up to help at this important fundraising event!

Hear the basics of setting up a website and how to customize it for your own personal or business needs. A basic knowledge of computers is required. A limited number of library laptops are available. Toy Photography 101

Ages 9 and up. Why take pictures of toys? Well, for starters, they do whatever you tell them to. Plus, they don't fidget, or take lunch breaks. Oh, and they dress a lot better than most of us. Learn the tricks of shooting toys from a professional action figure photographer, including posing, lighting and backgrounds. Start mixing up your Instagram with shots of your Pop vinyl figures, Monster High dolls or Lego constructions!

Fall Reading Puppies

Fridays   September 11 to December 4   4:30 to 6 PM

Kids in kindergarten through fourth grade can read their favorite book to an energetic guide-dog-in-training. Sign up for your 15 minute session with Miss Jenn!

Join Miss Kathleen in this fun Kindergarten book club. Read exciting books together, play games, and have a great time with friends!

First and second graders will read great books at home, then get together with Miss Kathleen to discuss the stories and play interactive games!

Third and fourth graders will read wonderful books at home, then join Miss Kathleen and Miss Jenn to discuss the stories. We will also make some tasty treats related to the books!

Enjoy a fun summer night at another great trivia event! Come solo or bring a group of friends and play to win great prizes. Hudson Valley Trivia will host & bring Trivia Night to another level with buzzers & more! Ages 18+ only. Registration Required. Space is limited.
Kids ages 3+ can stay for Tuesday Fun Night with Miss Kathleen & kids ages 8+ can play their own Trivia with Miss Jenn and Hudson Valley Trivia in the Main Library while their parents play. Kids must be registered.

The Patterson Historical Society takes you back in time to Patterson in the 1950s & 60s at the viewing and discussion of 'Our Town', a film capturing the town's history and people during that era. 

Thursday  August 20   1 PM      

Enjoy our AC while watching The Theory of Everything, (PG-13) the wonderful Oscar nominated movie about the life of brilliant physicist Stephen Hawking, and his struggle with a devastating motor neuron disease. Eddie Redmayne's amazing portrayal of Hawking won him the Oscar for Best Actor.

For ages 8 to 13. Join us for a game show style trivia night for kids. We'll have a buzzer waiting for you. Win prizes and have snacks. Bring a whole team or come on your own, either way it will be a fun night. Miss Jenn and Hudson Valley Trivia will be your hosts.

For ages 3.5 and up. Come join us at the Patterson Library for an afternoon of bridges. Learn about the Hudson Valley bridges and their different benefits, while also having the chance to make your own bridge!
