Appreciation for your Father
Living Benefits - Real Life
What is a Dad?
Message from the President of GBS
Get out there!
More than 50 percent of American men do not get enough physical activity to provide health benefits. For adults, thirty minutes of moderate physical activity on most, preferably all, days of the week is recommended. It doesn't take a lot of time or money, but it does take commitment. Start slowly, work up to a satisfactory level, and don't overdo it. You can develope one routine, or you can do something different every day. Find fun ways to stay in shape and feel good, such as Golfing, cutting the grass, swimming, walking,  jogging, riding a bike.  No matter the activity make it fun and enjoyable so it doesn't feel like work.

Message from the President

Father's Day is probably one of my most joyed occasions.  Although I take great pride in the business I have built, my finest achievement in life has without a doubt have to be my three boys.
 (ages 14, 12, and 6).  Father's Day represents so much more than saying;

"Thanks for being a great Dad"

Losing my father at the young age of 10, I truly understand the meaning of living each day with purpose.
With that thought resting on my shoulders, I make each day matter!

The joy of watching them scramble to be the first to the ball so they can be the one to kick, throw or pass it back to me...fills me in a way that is hard to explain!!!  The roadtrips have given memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.  This Father's Day is your day to give thanks to your kids for giving you memories that are yours forever!
Happy Father's Day from

  APPRECIATION FOR YOUR FATHER

If you're a father, you'll appreciate the joys of being both a child and a father. If you're a son, I'm sure you already know how special fathers are.  And a daughter knows that Daddy's tummy is often the softest place to cuddle up to (even when your older).  When I think back to my childhood, I remember the special moments I spent with my father. We went camping, fishing, boating and skipped rocks on the water. My father showed me the loving image of what a dad should be.  I often reflect back on the times we spent together, him teaching me how to change the oil in my car, a flat tire or in his wood shop building something together all the while amazed that he actually knew what he was doing.  Back then it didn't seem that important, but those memories will live inside my heart forever.

A father is one of the two most important people in a child's life. He is looked up to and respected, but more often than not, fathers are forgotten or don't receive the recognition they deserve.  They too have big dreams for their family. That's why this Father's Day is the perfect opportunity to say thank you.

Gifts are a part of Father's Day and sometimes it's difficult to find the perfect gift ideas that say, "I love you dad, and I appreciate all that you have taught me and the sacrifices you've made for me." This year, forget about the tacky tie, or the local breakfast buffet.  Give your father a gift that he'll truly appreciate, a gift from your heart.  It's quite simple; just think of all the activities your father enjoys, then surprise him by planning a full day together. The gift will show your appreciation, but it's the time spent together that will be the icing on the cake and the memories created will be the cherry on top.

Living Benefits - Real Life Stories - by Craig Harris (Forum)

Insurance is not an abstract, intangible purchase for the thousands of Canadians who face devastating illnesses and pressing health - care needs.  And yet the stories of living benefits clients rarely get told.  Here are a few examples of how the seemingly small decision to buy these products has made a big difference in peoples' lives.
Insurance is often pilloried for its focus on paperwork.  Behind the endless forms and policy applications are real people who rely on financial protection in a time of need.  Nowhere is this more the case than in the world of living benefits insurance - critical illness (CI), disability (DI) and long-term care (LTC)...
Beyond the alarming statistics that financial advisors regularly cite about illness, disability and the growing health-care needs of seniors are the stories of people who have had to cope with life-changing events and devastating illnesses.  these clients are from all walks of life and various professions and trades - from realtors to engineers to dental hygienists to construction workers.

The Feeling of Greatness: The Moe Norman Story

Millions of people have been influenced by Moe's approach to golf, however, there are so many others that don't know Moe's story. Before Tiger Woods there was a man that mastered the Game of Golf.  Learn more about this legend, the fundamentals of his golf swing mechanics, and the way he used his mind to master the game of golf.
Moe had an entertaining, fun loving, great attitude, and the desire to share his thoughts about golf with others made Moe Norman a pleasure to be around. Moe Norman is a genius when it comes to playing the game of golf."
Tiger Woods in a recent interview stated "Only two players have ever truly owned their swings Moe Norman and Ben Hogan," Woods said. "I want to own mine. That's where the satisfaction comes from."
The Man, The Myth, The MOE.  Moe Norman is the Michael Jordan of golf, his swing is so consistently perfect, so geared to never hitting a ball off-line, all the big boys begged to play with him.
"John Daly, Ernie Els, Nick Price, they all ask me to hit balls, since out of the 40 million people playing golf, I'm the only one with the 'secret.'
Only Moe had the perfect grip and controlled 365-day-a-year swing.
"No one else knows the move, the feeling of greatness the only man on earth who can hit the ball straight every time. I haven't hit a ball out of bounds in 11 years," Moe claims with a laugh, equally proud of his playing with the same tee since 1989.
In a 2004 USA Today Q&A interview, VJ Singh was asked this question: Who's the best golfer you've ever seen?" Singh's answer: "Moe Norman. I've hit balls with him lots of times. He was incredible. Whatever he said he could do, he could do. If you talk to Lee Trevino and the other greats of the game, they'll tell you how good he was. He could talk it, and he could do it. God gives people little gifts, and Moe had a gift for golf."
Find your inner gift and use it to the best of your ability.......we all have one, we just need to figure out what it is.

What is a Dad?

A dad is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall but instead picks you up, brushes you off, and lets you try again.

A dad is someone who wants to keep you from making mistakes but instead lets you find your own way, even though his heart breaks in silence when you get hurt.

A dad is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when you break the rules, shines with pride when you succeed, and has faith in you even when you fail...
