Society Of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) Announces Finalists for the 8th Annual SIEMENS Outstanding Academic Research (SOAR) Awards


Vienna, VA (May 05, 2014) - The Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) announces the finalists for the 8th annual SIEMENS Outstanding Academic Research (SOAR) Awards.  Sponsored by SIEMENS Healthcare, the SOAR Awards Program supports the professional and clinical development of top radiologists and cardiologists.  Applicants submitted abstracts on the designated topic of Cardiac CT in Cardiovascular Surgery. Based on the abstracts, a maximum of six (6) finalists were selected by an independent advisory panel to participate in this competitive program.

This year's finalists are:

All six finalists will attend the 9th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography in San Diego, Calif., July 10-13, 2014. During a dedicated session at the meeting, each finalist will deliver a ten-minute lecture presentation of their work. The abstracts and presentations will be judged by an independent panel, and one winning finalist and a runner-up finalist will be recognized. The winning finalist and the runner-up finalist will receive cash prizes, and they must be present at the Awards Ceremony on Sunday, July 13, 2014, to receive their prizes. In addition, the winning finalist will be invited to submit his or her original research manuscript for priority peer-reviewed publication in the Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.
