Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT)
Is Now Accepting Submissions for the
8th Annual SIEMENS Outstanding Academic Research (SOAR) Awards Program
Vienna, VA (February 3, 2014) - The Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) is now accepting submissions for the 8th Annual SIEMENS Outstanding Academic Research (SOAR) Awards. Made possible by SIEMENS Healthcare, the SOAR Awards Program supports the professional and clinical development of all researchers interested in cardiovascular CT imaging.
Applicants may enter by submitting an abstract through the SCCT Abstract Website. Abstracts eligible for this awards program must pertain to the subject of Cardiac CT in Cardiovascular Surgery. Abstracts submitted online will be evaluated by both the SCCT Abstracts Grading Committee and the SOAR Awards Program Committee, which will select six (6) finalists. Submitted abstracts that are not selected to be finalists for the awards program will still be eligible for placement in regular abstract sessions, though the SOAR Awards Program Committee does not guarantee placement in these sessions.
Each of the finalists will give an oral presentation in a special session at the 9th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society of Cardiovascular Tomography (SCCT2014), July 10-13, 2014, in San Diego, California. The abstracts and presentations will be judged by an independent panel, and one winning finalist and one runner-up will be recognized. The winning finalist will receive a cash prize of $1,000 and will be invited to submit an original research manuscript for priority peer-reviewed publication in the Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. The runner-up finalist will receive a cash prize of $500.
