Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) Announces Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (JCCT) Acceptance For Indexing by Thomson Reuters
Vienna, VA (November 6, 2012) - The Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) is pleased to announce that the Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (JCCT) has been accepted for indexing by Thomson Reuters. The indexing will begin immediately, retroactive to 2010, which means that the first Impact Factor will be announced next year.
Thomson Reuters' editors assess the scholarly merit of a journal being evaluated for coverage by a variety of factors and elements. Among the criteria established by the editors are timeliness of publication, quality of editorial content, international diversity of authors and editors, adherence to international editorial conventions, and the use of peer review.
JCCT has been positioning itself for several years for this achievement, through thoughtful structuring of its editorial pages, dedicated Focus Issues on key topic areas, gradual growth in our international presence, and broad inclusion in the Elsevier online collections leading to strong online performance. JCCT is well-positioned and ranks in the top fifteen percent of Radiology and Imaging journals worldwide, according to Scimago.
"JCCT presently stands among the highest ranked of imaging-focused Journals, and Thomson Reuters indexing furthers our impact," says Dr. Allen Taylor, Editor in Chief of JCCT. "We anticipate this achievement will further JCCT's reach to the worldwide cardiovascular CT community. We appreciate the past and future efforts of Elsevier working with SCCT to continue delivering the best scientific and educational journal in cardiovascular CT to our members and readership."
JCCT is a unique peer-review journal that integrates the entire international cardiovascular CT community including cardiologist and radiologists, from basic to clinical academic researchers, to private practitioners, engineers, allied professionals, industry, and trainees, all of whom are vital and interdependent members of our cardiovascular imaging community across the world. The goal of the journal is to advance the field of cardiovascular CT as the leading cardiovascular CT journal, attracting seminal work in the field with rapid and timely dissemination in electronic and print media.
