Jimmy Nelson

Over the course of years, British photographer Jimmy Nelson traveled with an archaic studio camera and visited 35 of the world's least known and most imperiled tribal peoples -- from the Huli and Kalam tribes of New Guinea, to the Tsaatan of Mongolia and the Mursi people inhabiting the highlands of the Omo River valley in remote southern Ethiopia. The book is less ethnology or anthropology than a document of his romance with otherness.
Judith Dupre

Incredible photographs, fascinating interviews, plans and diagrams, obscure facts - just everything you need to know to truly appreciate these architectural wonders.  Features more than 60 buildings.Hardcover
Antonis Antiniou

Maps help us understand the world. This book features the most original and sought-after map illustrators whose work is in line with the zeitgeist.  A Map of the World is a compelling collection of their work--from accurate and surprisingly detailed representations to personal, naive, and modernistic interpretations. Hardcover
Based on archival documents, you are taken on a stroll charming and delightful world of Marie Antoinette's garden, with descriptions of the cosmetic and medicinal uses of the garden's plants, anecdotes from the royal court, and Redoute's watercolors of the herbarium.
Hardcover

What photos exist of WWI tend to be claustrophobic and grainy, which makes Sacco's epic panorama feel all the more revelatory. Illustrated across a single, wordless 24-foot-long accordion-fold page, Sacco details-and detail is the right word-the situation on July 1, 1916, as British troops meet the Germans at the Battle of the Somme in France.
Mark Frauenfelder

This book tells the WHOLE extraordinary story, from Colossus to the iPad.  Highly illustrated, The Computer traces the evolution of this vital machine from its earliest roots in code-breaking in WWII to an integral part of 21st Century life.
adapted by Amy Ehrlich, paintings by Daniel Nevins

For thousands of years the stories contained in the Torah have been passed down, studied, revered.  With a Mighty Hand is Ehrlich's interpretation of these stories into a single narrative, brought to life with Nevins luminous paintings.  The combination retains the complexity of the sacred text and offers families a keepsake to share.
Emily Dickinson

Arguably America's greatest poet,
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) published fewer than a dozen of her eighteen hundred poems during her lifetime. This edition of her late writings, presents this crucially important, experimental late work exactly as she wrote it on scraps of envelopes.  Hardcover

The murals featured in this volume act as both an artistic and cultural guide to New York and its citizens over the past 100+ years-from the Victorian sensibilities of the 1900's, to the New Deal outlook of the WPA-commissioned artworks, to the graffiti-inflected art of Keith Haring and Barry McGee. Hardcover
Lisa S. Johnson

Armed with a macro lens, an incredible eye for detail and a truly ground breaking vision, Lisa Johnson's guitar art, is taking the world of fine art photography on a rock and roll ride. Far from still life, Lisa's work conjures the abstract, yet also possesses a very sensual and ethereal feel
