Dear Friends,
Sometimes it seems quiet here at the bookstore, and sometimes we're just jumping with activity. As we look over the next few weeks (April, May and June), we've got an incredible wealth of authors lined up for you. Really, it's incredible! And we hope you can join us for an evening, or two. There is nothing so special as hearing an author talk about their own work - their own creativity and craft. Your constant support enables us to be here and bring you this talent, so treat yourself and join the conversation.
Wednesday evening, 4/24, 7pm, we are looking forward to welcoming
Tracy Beckerman as she shares her story, Lost in Suburdia. Get a babysitter, make a date with your girlfriend and join us as we trade stories of our transplanted lives.
Thursday evening, 4/25, 7pm, David Sterry hosts a panel discussion and workshop, The Art of the Novel with author Alice Elliott Dark, literary agent Liza Dawson and Editor Emily Bestler. You couldn't ask for more professionalism and advice packed into one evening as they discuss the complex process of writing and selling a novel. Come prepared to pitch yours.
Friday afternoon, 4/26, 5-6pm, the YA Advisory Board meets and has the opportunity to talk about writing and the life of an author with our very own Henry Neff. There will also be an opportunity to read your own work. Saturday morning, 4/27, 10:30am, we host our last Author/Illustrator Storytime for the year (don't worry, we're already planning September!). Bring the little ones in for a delightful time with Cory Rosen Schwartz as she reads her energetic, fractured-fairy tale, The Three Ninja Pigs. Saturday afternoon, at 1pm, come and meet Casey Barber and chat about her new book, Classic Snacks Made from Scratch. Rumor has it that we'll have some samples to sample! Our Poetry Month Celebration is on Sunday, 4-5pm. Shall We Couplet? Young and wise are invited to read. Haven't sent in your couplet yet? There's still time. And, yes there's one more! Charles Liu, author of The Handy Astronomy Anwer Book, will discuss the latest from Mars exploration at the Adult School of Montclair on Monday, 4/29, 7pm. Last, but not least, we're featuring new paperback releases that are perfect for your book group (or to tuck into yourself).
Enjoy! Margot, Nicole, Carolyn, Marina, Marisela, Liane and Jeanne

John Brockman
A novel of charm, humor, and profound insight into the thoughts and feelings we all bury deep within our hearts "A cause for celebration . . . Nathan Englander
"What Englander is saying is that we know ourselves, or don't, on different levels, that we exist individually and as part of a heritage... Who will hide us? Who are we, really? How do ritual and culture intersect? Such questions exist at the heart of this accomplished collection, in which stories are what make us who we are." LA Times
