| Dear Friends,
Tonight at 7pm, Jersey Women Mean Business! We learned so much from our entrepreneurs in October, that we have another panel convened. Thinking about opening your own business, need to recharge the business you have? Meet and learn from four successful entrepreneurs as they discuss their Big Bold Business Advice. Saturday Storytime, 10:30am, welcomes our beloved Peter Brown back to delight our little ones (okay, these are stories adults like to read over and over also). Peter will share his favorites, Children Make Terrible Pets, The Curious Garden and more!
For Middle Readers, we have a wonderful author, Christopher Healy, on Wednesday, January 30th at 4pm. He will introduce his debut novel, the first of a series, A Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom, an action-packed and hilarious journey about Prince Charming (twisted fairy tale!). And, in case you've heard the buzz, we ARE hosting Julie Andrews and Emma Walton Hamilton, booksigning their delightful new children's book, The Very Fairy Princess Follows her Heart, on February 6. Unfortunately, the 200 spots for the signing were snapped up within hours of our announcement. However, Ms. Andrews and Ms. Hamilton will try to sign as many copies as possible to share with our customers. If you would like to reserve a signed copy, please call 973-744-7177 or email. Sign up for World Book Night 2013 by January 25th! Choose from 32 titles, you will receive 20 copies of your book, hand it out to your designated audience (light readers or non-readers) to encourage and share your love of reading! It's really incredible! Enjoy! Margot, Nicole, Carolyn, Marina, Marisela, and Liane

Canada
Richard Ford
"This is a brilliant and engrossing portrait of a fragile American family and the fragile consciousness of a teenage boy. It is also fascinating in the way it reveals the plot in the opening page and then winds backwards, offering a more and more intimate version of the story." Colm Toibin author of Brooklyn
Paperback and eBook.

| All this Talk of Love
Christopher Castellani
Castellani's third novel is his richest and most beautiful to date. With particular wisdom, he follows each of his protagonists...as their dreams are compromised by the challenges of life and the bonds of love. The last third of this novel is as moving a rendition of the losses and discoveries of old age as I have ever read." -- Claire Messud, author of The Emperor's Children

Thomas Mallon
"In this stealth bull's-eye of a political novel, Mr. Mallon invests the Watergate affair with all the glitter, glamour, suave grace and subtlety that it doesn't often receive. Written with the name-dropping panache of a Hollywood tell-all, it seamlessly embellishes reportage with fiction." -Janet Maslin, New York Times 10 Favorite Books of 2012 Paperback and eBook

|
Leslie Maitland
"One of those sweeping, epic, romantic novels that seems tailor-made for the Oscars and a long summer afternoon. Except it's real! Leslie Maitland has the rare ability to bring history, adventure, and love alive." -Bruce Feiler, New York Times best-selling author of Walking the Bible and Abraham

Toni Morrison
"Haunting . . . [Morrison] maps the day-to-day lives of her characters with lyrical precision. . . . Home encapsulates all the themes that have fueled her fiction, from the early novels Sula and The Bluest Eye, through her dazzling masterwork, Beloved." -Michiko Kakutani, The New York Times Paperback and eBook.

Karin Thompson Walker
"What a remarkable and beautifully wrought novel. In its depiction of a world at once utterly like and unlike our own, The Age of Miracles is so convincingly unsettling that it just might make you stockpile emergency supplies of batteries and bottled water. It also-thank goodness-provides great solace with its wisdom, its compassion, and the elegance of its storytelling."-Curtis Sittenfeld, author of Prep

Gurjinder Basran
"A tender novel about identity and the search for belonging that is both humorous and heartbreaking. In Meena, Basran has created a feisty, complicated and irrepressible heroine." --Thrity Umrigar, author of the bestselling The Space Between Us and The World We Found Paperback and eBook.
|
Carole Martinez

"Carole Martinez interrogates unflinchingly the mystery of human relations, and the games of power between men and women... she refuses to be trapped in "realism,"...she prefers the poetry and the imaginary." --Evelyne De Martinis, Le Nouvel Observateur 2011
