Learn 'How to Make the Most of Mediation'
at Burlington County Bar Assn. Program Feb. 11th
Kim C. Belin, Esq. and Andrew D. Linenberg, Esq., both of Cooper Levenson, will be part of a panel presentation on mediation on February 11, 2015, 4:30-6:45 p.m. at the County Office Building, 3rd Floor, Courtroom 2, Mt. Holly, N.J. The program, "How to Make the Most of Mediation: Superior Court & Special Education Matters" is sponsored by the Burlington County Bar Association (BCBA)'s CDR/ADR Committee. The program has been approved for Continuing Legal Education credit in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Belin is moderator of the panel and Linenberg is a panelist. They'll be joined by two other panelists: the Hon. John A. Sweeney, A.J.S.C. (Ret.), Mediation & Arbitration Services, and Diane Talty, mediator for the Family Division of Burlington County. Topics will include an overview of the mediation process, how the process works, caucusing, mediation agreements and enforceability, and substantive mediation specific to family matters, civil and special matters, and special education matters.

Cost is $40 for BCBA members, $70 for non-member attorneys, $10 for paralegals and free to law students, Burlington County law clerks and judges. Continuing education credits in Pennsylvania are available for an additional $13 fee. Deadline for registration is February 9.

Serving in an Of Counsel capacity at Cooper Levenson, Belin concentrates on Education Law matters for school boards and administrators, including matters relating to administrative law and hearings, policy development, labor and employment issues, staff relations, pupil rights and obligations, IDEA and Section 504 compliance, school construction, and contract procurement. She currently teaches School Law for Rowan University's Novice Teacher Series, and a class on The Law of Higher Education at Rowan's Graduate School of Education.

Linenberg is an associate in Cooper Levenson's Education Law practice group.  He focuses on matters of all types for school boards and administrators, including staff relations, student discipline, harassment, intimidation and bullying, contracts and procurement, special education matters, school construction matters and other issues. In addition to his practice, Linenberg is an Adjunct Professor in the ABA-approved Legal Studies program at Peirce College in Philadelphia, PA, where he instructs students seeking to become paralegals in Legal Research, Advanced Legal Writing, and Professionalism. He is a frequent lecturer and CLE presenter regarding education law and related issues throughout New Jersey.
