SOCIAL MEDIA, CONNECTED CHILDREN: PARENTING THE MOBILE DEVICE CHILD
VTT presents an evening with social media guru, Jesse Miller. Join us on Tuesday, March 29 at 7 p.m. RSVP to info@talmudtorah.com
An interactive and visual presentation helps parents understand where the social media and tech concerns are in our connected community. This is a must-see presentation for parents who would like to proactively examine the challenges of social media, reveal the realities behind the concerns around social media, and prompt dialogue that fits your home values. This presentation will provide parents with the tools needed to better equip themselves for parenting in the social media generation, extend the dialogue to reflect technology influences in your home, and address the current trends in social media use within British Columbia.
Jesse Miller is a respected national speaker on the topics of social media awareness, social networking behaviour, and online content evaluation. He has been presenting and consulting with schools, government organizations, and public safety agencies since 2007. His presentations have reached thousands of participants across Canada and his presentation addresses issues ranging from Cyberbullying, Digital Citizenship, and Digital Curriculum development. PINK SHIRT DAY/ANTI-BULLYING DAY 2016: RECOGNIZING ACTS OF COMPASSION
Incorporating songs, dance, ukuleles, skits and pledges for kindness, Grade 5 students led a spectacular assembly to recognize Pink Shirt/Anti-Bullying Day 2016. Many students from K to Grade 7 were also nominated for their compassionate acts towards members of their school community. Kudos to Mrs. Andersen, Ms. Chan, Morah Lisa, Morah Anna, Morah Etti, Morah Myra and Ms. Smith. Thanks, as well, to VTT parent Natalya Kucherenko for designed our VTT-inspired pink shirts (and to Shoshi Burton for the Judaic content).
