| Hungarian Jewish Children Singing Hatikvah in the 1930s |
Incredibly rare footage of children in Munkács, Hungary singing a version of HaTikva prior to the Holocaust, in the early 1930s. Most of the children were murdered by the Nazis. The song, which means "The Hope," became Israel's national anthem when the state was established.

| The Grade Seven Chesed Club has begun the year performing a very special mitzvah. Children undergoing medical procedures at BC's Children's Hospital (BCCH) are offered prizes from treasure boxes. These treasure boxes are filled with a variety of prizes, from stickers to pencils. The most popular of all the prizes--the rainbow loom bracelets--had run dangerously low.
A few weeks ago, students from the Grade Seven Chesed Club, joined by Morah Lisa Romalis, went over to meet with Pat Gillis, head of Volunteer Resources, to find out what they could do to help out. This week they delivered over 40 rainbow loom bracelets to BCCH and met more people working in the Volunteer Resources department of the hospital.
These Grade Seven students felt tremendously proud of this mitzvah. They are already planning the next project, which is to help decorate the lobby of BCCH for Chanukah.
Members of the Grade 7 Chesed Club: Jayden Miller, Emma Greensite, Micah Shiff, Jonah Ezekiel, Noam Guralnick, Benjy Kraft, Evan Ariel, Max Laskin, Kalev Adler & Jack Tritt.
