TALK, TASTE & TOUR: A RESOUNDING SUCCESS!
Dear VTT Families,
We are grateful to all the parents (and grandparents) who came out on Wednesday evening to talk and connect with administrators, Board members and faculty and to hear first-hand about the new and exciting initiatives at VTT, to taste the incredible "kid-friendly" quality kosher food served with passion by the Lazy Gourmet team, and to tour the different stations explaining what's on offer at Vancouver Talmud Torah.
Our sincere thanks to Acton Ostry, our campus architects, for sharing the fly through with those in attendance; to Susan Mendelson of the Lazy Gourmet for superbly catering the event; to Michelle Dodek and Elliot Laskin from the Hebrew Free Loan Association who were on hand to publicize this important community resource; and to VTT alumna and current KDHS students, Justine Balin, Aimee Lutrin and Michelle Nifco, who volunteered as servers to ensure everyone had plenty to nosh on! It was also wonderful to have our ShinShinit, Ophir Golombek, helping out as well!
We also unveiled our new early years model at the gathering. Effective September 2016, Vancouver Talmud Torah will offer choice for Preschool 3 and Junior Kindergarten (formerly Preschool 4). Click on the image below (to the left) to learn more.
Finally, our Board of Directors released the 2015-16 Stakeholders Report. Read it for a complete summary of where we've been and where we are heading in the years to come. Click the image below to download.

MISSED THE FLY THROUGH? IT TAKES JUST TWO SHORT MINUTES TO BE AMAZED BY WHAT'S TO COME . . .
We thank the entire VTT community as we transition to the next stage of VTT's growth and evolution as a 21st century school.
Shabbat Shalom,
Cathy Lowenstein Head of School | Jonathon Leipsic VTT Board Chair |

| Click on image to see more photos |
Students in Grades 4-7 had a wonderful time kneading dough and twisting it into three, four, and six strand challahs yesterday as part of the worldwide Shabbat Project. Special thanks to VTT parent Ella Dreyshner ( ikosherbake.com) for preparing the dough and leading the challah making sessions. A big todah rabah to Rabbi Shmulik and the Kollel for sponsoring the VTT Challah Bake. We would also like to thank our incredible parent volunteers: Naomi Evans, Shawna Merkur, Stephanie Glotman, Kathryn Young, Laura Tuan, Natalie Wiseman, Haim Sibony, Rinat Lanciano, Celia Hamui, Polly Hamui, Eva Kaplan and Sandra Harris.

THANKING THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED VANCOUVER TALMUD TORAH
On Monday night, VTT bid adieu to Board members Sue Hector, Megan Laskin, Allan Beron and Belinda Gutman. These four individuals, assuming different portfolios for the benefit of our school, contributed countless of hours to ensure we met our strategic goals of financial sustainability, educational excellence and community. Of particular note are the 15 years Sue Hector served VTT. As she reflected, during her tenure on VTT's Board, she served twice as co-President, went through two administrations, two bar mitzvahs, two bar mitzvahs, two graduations (of her sons), and countless teacher retirement celebrations. She paid tribute to Dave Kauffman, Ari Shiff, Doug Pulver and Bill Schonbrun for their support and wisdom as she navigated often unfamiliar terrain. VTT is deeply grateful to Sue and all the other volunteers who care so much about our school. We now welcome Roy Hessel, Matthew Ross, Annie Simpson and Tamara Howarth to the Board of Directors and thank Jonathon Leipsic for assuming the role of Board Chair. Josh Pekarsky, who so capably led the school last year, now takes on the role of 1st Vice President, joining Bill Schonbrun who is 2nd Vice President. Todah Rabah to all!
