Sukkot in the BI Sukkah would not have been possible without the superb efforts of our parent chairs, Dale Porte and Tamar (Tami) Tanne. Special thanks to our Israeli Shinshinit, Ophir Golombek, for all the programming initiatives. We are grateful to Congregation Beth Israel for honouring the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim ("welcoming the strangers") during this most joyful of harvest festivals.
WHAT IS PRAYER?
As interpreted by sixth and seventh grade students . . .
Once a week, our most senior students (Grades 6 & 7) gather for a morning minyan service. Morah Lisa Romalis, who facilitates the weekly gathering, asked the students to define the concept of prayer and what is means to them.
