Safety First!

Dear VTT Families,

This is our tenth campus update since our big gym was demolished over the summer. Progress is made every day and I want to personally thank you for your ongoing support, patience and excitement as we forge ahead on the expansion of our campus.

Since opening the joint VTT-BI parkade, we have noticed that some parents are parking in the Safeway lot. Even though the entrance on West 26th is still open, it is primarily for pedestrian use. Please note that you risk getting ticketed or towed by parking in the King Edward Mall. VTT does not have any special parking arrangement with the mall, Diamond Parking or Safeway. Please use our parkade instead.

Haebler Construction has also alerted us that some families are dropping off their children right on 26th Avenue. THIS IS NOT SAFE! Not only is the portion of street in front of our school a No Stopping zone, but there are huge construction vehicles going to and fro and their size pose a risk to drivers and students. Please use our parkade instead. There is a team of flaggers there to help you and your children.

PLEASE ABIDE BY OUR TRAFFIC RULES . . .

You can only make a right turn into the parkade off 28th Avenue. By trying to make a left, you are holding up traffic all the way to Oak Street. When exiting the parkade, make a right as well to allow for smooth traffic flow.

Playground Update

Our students are really enjoying the play field at Beth Israel. It is open every recess and is allowing students safe and secure space for running, jumping, and playing.

Despite the cold weather, playground equipment installation should be complete early next week. Soccer nets for the play field are anticipated to arrive then as well. We are confident these improvements will further enhance our students' enjoyment outside.
