A TASTE OF THE EARLY YEARS
On Wednesday, Vancouver Talmud Torah hosted approximately 60 prospective parents at our Early Years Open House, promoting our excellent preschool and kindergarten to existing and new families. Word of mouth is our most powerful marketing tool. Should you know of interested families, please encourage them to contact Tammy or Jennifer in admissions. We can meet, tour and answer any and all questions curious families have. Also, feel free to share the following videos with them: | A Taste of the Early Years

 | What We Love About Kindergarten |
We were privileged to host some members of our show choir (Keren Katz, Hadar Yanai, Ethan Doctor, and Ruth Nahmad) at the open house who began the evening with a beautiful rendition of "A Song of Peace." This was followed by two speeches by Conrad Belzberg and Alisa Bressler, both Grade 7 students who reflected on their educational and social journeys at Talmud Torah. Todah Rabah to all six students! |
GET READY FOR MACCABEEDOODAH: A Hanukkah Musical!
Wednesday, December 17 at 7 p.m. at Congregation Beth Israel's beautiful new ballroom For families with children in Kindergarten through Grade 7 Please email Ms. Smith if your children will be away for the concert |
It's that time of year again! Give the gift of life by participating in the joint VTT-Schara Tzedeck blood drive on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov 26 & 27. Morning, afternoon and evening appointments available.
Lito is back!!! For those of you who were wondering what happened to Lito over the last month, he returned to the Philippines for his daughter's wedding. This was his first time going home in seven years. The VTT community is very grateful to have Lito back at Talmud Torah. As we all know, he and the rest of the custodial crew are key components to a smooth running school.
The second time's the charm! Kindergarten students enjoyed a glorious day at Southlands Farm after the first field trip was cancelled due to heavy rain. The opportunity to pet the animals more than compensated for the initial disappointment. This week's faculty "Learning with the Rabbi" session was with Rabbi Rosenblatt of Schara Tzedeck. Topic on the agenda: "Authority & Liberty: Enemies or Friends?" The analysis of Isaiah Berlin's writings on the subject were most illuminating and thought-provoking. |

| Thank you to Simone Wilson, our PAC challah coordinator, who is ensuring that families who want a challah for Shabbat can order one. This is a wonderfully convenient service for our community. Thank you to Sabra's for supplying the challahs and discounting them so the PAC can earn a bit of funds for programs.
There is no challah program next week due to Parent-Teacher conferences.
