The Humane Society of Louisiana is VERY excited that a private
foundation has generously pledged to match sanctuary
donations up to $10,000.00 this month!!

Journey

Can you help us meet this September challenge?  Your gifts will go to immediate use, caring for animals in need. We could use EVERY CENT

of the $20K we could potentially raise for direct animal care.  Donate HERE.

Super-sweet Journey loves toys, tennis balls and kids.  Everyone who meets him falls in love. He was found wandering  the streets with a swollen leg and ended up in public shelter, where he would have been killed.  Now safe with us, Journey urgently needs an expensive surgery to correct an old break in his leg that didn't heal correctly.

Your matched donation will help us with:

  • treating all of our heartworm positive dogs with Immiticide ($4000)
  • constructing additional run-ins for horses at our new sanctuary property ($2000+)
  • paying down our sanctuary vet balance for routine care, which now stands at close to $10,000
  • buying secondhand washers and dryers, a refrigerator and freezer ($1000 at least)
  • buying needed tires for our transport truck ($600)
  • preparing for winter by purchasing needed heaters, dog houses, heated pads for dog houses, pavers to winterize yards (2500+)
  • getting winter hay for horses ($2000)

....and we could REALLY use a lawn mower which will cost $3000 to $4000!!!

Summer is finally over, but we're really feeling the heat after months of higher bills and decreased donations. The timing of this opportunity couldn't be better.  We're running urgently low on funds this week, even for general operations, let alone major costs like these. PLEASE help if you can and DOUBLE your impact on the lives of animals today!
