Working with patients and families to address clinical and operational issues is supposed to be the hospital's model of care. But a recent survey showed a large percentage of staff don't know the Patient and Family Centered Care Council exists or what it does. They're out to change that with a back-to-basics approach.

A call from the governor She's leading preparations for reaccreditation of the Graduate Nurse Residency Program (GNRP) while she attends grad school. But GNRP coordinator Mandy Moorer, RN (right), will soon have more on her plate after earning an appointment from Governor John Hickenlooper to the state's Medical Services Board. She'll have a say in how the state complies with federal regulations for delivering care to underserved populations, including those joining the rapidly expanding Medicaid rolls. >>More
