Laramie, Ho! With a management agreement in place, 99-bed Ivinson Memorial Hospital officially affiliated with UC Health on Jan. 1. Last January, UC Health did not exist. Now it employs nearly 15,000, has some 1,500 inpatient beds and stretches from Colorado Springs into Wyoming. Ivinson CEO Carol Dozier said it's an opportunity for Ivinson - one of America's most successful rural hospitals - to learn from some of the other best hospitals in the business.   >>More

NICU Santa strikes again... and again and again. Phyllis Hoskins, a Support Services administrative assistant, has been brightening the holidays of NICU families for 10 years now. The gifts she and many helpers bring in range from hand-knitted blankets to gifts cards to help families pay for gasoline for their commutes to babies who spend months in the unit. Hoskins says she's already thinking about the 2013 holidays.  >>More
