Turkey Rescheduled to 2014

Sorry to say the recent news in Turkey has hindered reservations coming in excepting a few. I feel totally confident offering this trip as I have spoken to folks on the ground who assure me that, as usual, the media has over dramatized the events. Alas, we do not have enough travelers to make the trip happen this year. I will miss going to Turkey this fall and am rescheduling our Turkey adventure for September, 2014. Turkey is a country on the move and before it becomes further modernized sooner rather than later is the best time to visit. Roads are being built and all the major hotel chains are constructing feverishly. So, if you want to experience Turkey, this is an excellent time. Everyone is welcoming the tourist. Locals are friendly towards visitors and the spirit is one of a well executed plan for tourism to rank #1. Already Turkey is a first choice for many and once you travel there you will understand why. Cappadocia alone is enough reason to visit. But then include Istanbul, Ephesus, and Bodrum and you will want to return as I do. |
What to Do
An Australian woman who found our website wasn't sure if she should call a travel agent or book directly. Either approach is fine. Most women do book directly with us. It's as easy as choosing your trip, reserving online with your deposit and then 90 days prior to departure paying the balance. What are you waiting for?

From time to time I am going to share a snippet on a woman who has traveled with Serendipity Traveler. Louise lives in Massachusetts and her first trip with us was on our Best of Nova Scotia trip. A fun lady, she was going through an amicable but painful divorce and learning more about how she wanted to live her life and create fresh chapters. An active grandmother and gardener, Louise is a joy to travel with. The property next door to the inn where she stayed in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia had a very large tree removed and evidently there were bats who lived in the tree. Louise used all her courage and humor when a bat flew into her bedroom. She quickly grabbed a towel and captured it. She then proceeded to deliver the surprise down the stairs to the front desk. What a good sport! We have laughed often over her bat episode. She has a condo in Florida where she likes to spend time and yet this past winter Louise joined our Yoga Pure Bliss and Adventure to Dominica. Showing an active interest in all things native, she got recipes from the chef at our lodge after the Caribbean cooking class and created her own versions of lots of things when she got home. Looking forward to traveling again together with this lovely client.

In the London world of tea, the coveted awards of excellence and Top London Afternoon Tea Award is like the Oscar's of the tea world. Each spring this list is published and I look forward to seeing who in London and in the countryside make the cut. To make the list you must have scored the highest marks allocated by The Tea Guild's "anonymous" tea Inspectors who are all experts in tea and how to brew and serve it. They secretly visit each Tea Guild member during the competition judging period (from end October to end January) and check out that their very strict criteria is being maintained in the 16 categories that are judged. These 16 categories include; hygiene and cleanliness, décor, staff attitude, efficiency of service, and include 8 tea service categories such as tea appearance, flavour and knowledge of tea. The Inspectors report back on what the venue was particularly good at and also, if necessary, where they consider improvements could be made. Many locations in London receive awards of excellence and this year it was The Goring that scored the top position. As I read the list of countryside tea rooms, the one where we stopped at Lacock was honored and Margaret, the proprietor and a quintessential lovely lady, deserved the award. The dates and details for our 2014 May English Garden Tour will be online next week and, as always, we will sip Tea at The Ritz pictured here which also received an award of excellence from the British Tea Guild. Then we will go to the theatre in the West End of London.
