Dear Ladies: It hardly seems possible that another month has flown by and it is again time to reach out to my travel gals both familiar and new. I am hopeful that everyone has weathered well all the storms and earthquakes wherever you may be. Thanks for continuing to read my monthly note. I hope to personally meet more of you in 2013 as your travel plans emerge. Just had a call from a former traveler that she is making plans to join us in Dominica this January. I always like to travel with familiar faces as well as meet many of you for the first time.

Next week the holiday dazzle begins. Must admit, I prefer the date of Thanksgiving in Canada which takes place in mid October during the harvest and allows ample time to digest the turkey before lighting the Advent candle or putting a wreath up to welcome Christmas or whatever your holiday tradition may be. Alas, we fast forward from one to the other holding our breath and working to keep our senses. The sights, smells, sounds, tastes, and temptations all remind me of traveling. All our senses are heightened when we hear the bells clanging in the hilltop villages in Tuscany or taste figs, feta or Turkish coffee in Turkey, smell drifts of lavender in Provence, see the turquoise waters of the Caribbean for the first time or wander the gardens in England. Life is all about taking the time to engage all of our senses to absorb the wonders wherever we may be, at home or as we travel. As the turkey cooks and the season unfolds, may blessings abound as you celebrate the richness that surrounds you.

Conde Naste Traveler
I love the photo of Istanbul on the cover of the November issue. What I truly like is the excellent itinerary highlighted from Earl Starkey who, like myself, is a well seasoned travel expert. The "when to go" (September) and "where to explore" itinerary presented is just like ours with only a few differences. We stay a little longer, have a full time guide and driver, include more meals, sleep very well at 4&5 star properties, and, from my vantage point, we are up a notch or two on the entire trip which is offered with exceptional value. Please read the fine print and you will realize we do thoughtfully and thoroughly plan the best tours ever. We offer something very special indeed. True to the name, Serendipity Traveler, we are an unexpected gem and for those women who have discovered us, our trips unfold as one of the highlights on their life's journey.

Wyoming in Summer
Our Walking in Wyoming experience begins on the first day of summer. Hopefully the heavy snowfall which started October 22nd this year will have melted in time for the wildflowers to begin blooming. This trip is for women who enjoy the outdoors. The Grand Tetons are majestic and the wildlife more than entertaining. If you haven't yet met a bison...it's time! We usually reserve The Hotel Terra which just received the Conde Naste Traveler top 100 hotels of the world award again. Located in Teton Village, it is delightfully situated for exploring the wilderness, wildlife, and wildflowers of The Tetons. If you want to plunk yourself in majestic beauty for a week, make your reservation now for this trip.

Gift Certificates
Recently on twitter, I noted a tweet "Diamonds are not a girls best friend, plane tickets are." A travel gift certificate lasts and creates experiences and memories long beyond when the trip ends. If you have been wondering what to give your mother, sister, daughter or even yourself.... think of the gift of travel to enrich, inspire and make dreams come true.

Inspiration
The Summer Day - by Mary Oliver Who made the world? Who made the swans, and the black bear? Who made the grasshopper? This grasshopper, I mean- the one who has flung herself out of the grass, the one who is eating sugar out of my hand, who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down- who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes. Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face. Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away. I don't know exactly what a prayer is. I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass, how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields, which is what I have been doing all day. Tell me, what else should I have done? Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon? Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
