Plenary session: Geomatics Indaba 2015

The President of South Africa recently announced 3 August 2016 as the date for the Local Government Elections in South Africa. This date falls in the middle of the the 3-day Geomatics Indaba 2016 training event that was scheduled for 2, 3 & 4 Aug 2016.

After discussion and consultation by the GI 2016 Exco, and with Emperors Palace regarding alternative available dates, it has been decided to reschedule Geomatics Indaba 2016 as follows:

Exhibition setup and early registration: Sunday 11 Sept 2016 at Emperors Palace
Conference and exhibition: Monday & Tuesday 12 & 13 Sept 2016 at Emperors Palace
Training room sessions: Monday & Tuesday 12 & 13 Sept 2016 at Emperors Palace
Field training day: Wednesday 14 September 2016 at venue in Gauteng (TBA)

We apologise most sincerely for any in convenience this may cause, but the Local Government Elections announced for 3 Aug 2016 has necessitated this change, and this was completely outside of our control.

In the circumstances, it is difficult if not impossible to please all stakeholders, sponsors, exhibitors, presenters and delegates. However may we assure you that wide-ranging options have been considered, and it was found that the dates of 12, 13 & 14 Sept 2016 proved to be the best practical option open to us. It also provides an extra month for authors and presenters of peer-reviewed and general papers to prepare their submissions.

You are requested to share this announcement widely with your friends, colleagues, business associates and all interested persons.
The overall theme of GI 2016 is:
