GI 2015 UAV Airshow
       
Delegates to the Geomatics Indaba 2015 conference, exhibition and training event are cordially invited to attend the Geomatics Indaba 2015 UAV Airshow.
  
DATE: 10 August 2015
TIME: 09h00 to 16h00, followed by drinks in the Clubhouse
VENUE: Barnstormers Model Flying Club, Bapsfontein (see map here)
  
  
PURPOSE
  
The GI 2015 UAV Airshow will showcase a diverse range of UAVs, with suppliers on hand to explain how the various UAVs are assembled, operated and used for accurate data collection. There will also be four flight simulators available at the Airshow where delegates may try their hand at flying a UAV.
  
The GI 2015 UAV Airshow is intended to educate and inform the surveying, GIS and geospatial community of regulatory and safety aspects of UAVs, and how to make best use of this emerging technology in their business and professional environment.
  
There will be demonstrations on the necessary safety-check procedures, practical demonstrations of take-off and landing procedures, as well as flying and data capturing capabilities.
  
Exhibitors will explain the applications for which their products are best suited, and delegates are encouraged to use this opportunity to educate and inform themselves on how to professionally incorporate UAV technology offerings into their current work practices.

BIG SCREEN AND PA SYSTEM

 

A grandstand and big outdoor screen will be provided to ensure UAV assembly, set-up, take-off, flying, landing and dis-assembly is visible to all. A marquees with seats and tables are provided for seating and relaxation while eating.

 

REFRESHMENTS
  • Soft drinks, hamburgers, boerewors rolls and other snacks will be available and sold on a cash basis at Barnstormers.
  • Delegates are welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic refreshments.
  • Alcoholic drinks at the Barnstormers bar will be available from 14h00 on a cash basis using a ticket system.
TRANSPORT
  • A luxury bus coach will provide transport from Emperors Palace Conference Centre, 64 Jones Road, Kempton park to Barnstormers, departing Emperors Palace Conference Centre at 08h30 and 10h00.
  • The bus will then provide transport back from Barnstormers to Emperors Palace Conference Centre, departing Barnstormers at 16h00 and 17h30.
  • There is ample secure parking at the Emperors Palace Conference Centre and at Barnstormers.
ATTENDANCE AND COSTS
  • Attendance at the Geomatics Indaba 2015 UAV Airshow is for registered delegates at the Geomatics Indaba 2015 Conference, taking place on 11, 12 and 13 August 2015.
  • The extra cost for attending the GI 2015 UAV Airshow is R200 per person.
  • Delegates attending the Geomatics Indaba 2015 Conference that have registered and paid to attend the GI 2015 UAV Airshow via their conference booking, will be on the attendance register at GI 2015 UAV Airshow registration desk at Barnstormers, and no further payment is necessary.
  • All other persons, except invited VIP guests and five staff members per exhibitor, are required to pay the R200 entrance fee at the
    GI 2015 UAV Airshow registration desk.
  • Payment can be made in cash or by credit card at the GI 2015 UAV Airshow registration desk at Barnstormers.
  • Receipts will be provided as well as an armband to show that payment has been made.
  • Persons without the above armband are not permitted beyond the registration desk at Barnstormers.
  • Please note that the GI 2015 UAV Airshow is a specialised professional event linked to the Geomatics Indaba 2015 Conference, and is not really suitable for children, spouses and the general public.
DIRECTIONS
  • From OR Tambo Airport, take the R21 highway to Pretoria.
  • Or from Pretoria, take the R21 highway to OR Tambo airport.
  • From the R21 highway, take the R25 off-ramp to Bronkhorstspruit.
