The Geomatics Indaba 2015 conference, exhibition and training event is set to be the highlight of the African geospatial industry calendar this year, with the theme:

The GI 2015 conference, exhibition and training event has a packed programme over three days (11, 12 and 13 August 2015), and features:

  • Opening by Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform, The Hon. Gugile Nkwinti (TBC)
  • Opening address by Rural Development & Land Reform Chief Director, Mr. Siyabonga Mdubeki, on behalf of the Chief Surveyor General of SA, Mr. Mmuso Riba
  • 700 conference delegates attending
  • 4 plenary sessions with high-level international keynote presenters
  • 4 panel discussions on important industry matters
  • 55 general paper presentations
  • 15 peer-reviewed academic research paper presentations
  • 32 training workshops
  • 48 exhibitors with 81 - 3 x 3 m exhibition booths
  • Dedicated Optron/Trimble stream with 16 presentations in 4 streams
  • Dedicated Aciel/Leica stream with 4 presentations

There will also be an exciting side event on 10 August 2015, namely the GI 2015 UAV Airshow, where 9 exhibitors will demonstrate and fly their latest surveying UAVs. Four flight simulators will be provided to enable delegates to get an experience of flying the UAVs themselves.
