Dedicated proprietary
technology streams at GI 2015

In addition to the plenary and two parallel conference streams at the Geomatics Indaba 2015 conference, exhibition and training event, there will be two addition dedicated proprietary technology streams, on the afternoon of 12 August and the morning of 13 August, as detailed below to which GI 2015 delegates may attend at no extra cost.

Registered GI 2015 delegates may also attend the GI 2015 UAV Airshow on 10 August, the day before the Geomatics Indaba 2015 conference.

Please not that only registered delegates to Geomatics Indaba 2015 may attend the dedicated technology streams and the GI 2015 UAV Airshow.

Opton / Trimble dedicated stream:
Afternoon of Wed 12 August 2015

Optron, in partnership with Trimble, understand that the concept of "one size fits all" no longer has a place in today's complex world as organisations vary in size, capability, customers and industry. It is recognised that the needs for each organisation are different.

Together with Trimble, Optron's aim is to have the largest portfolio comprising the best technology available. Solutions are focused on applications that require a position or location - including surveying, mining, construction, fleet and asset management, public safety and mapping. In addition to utilising positioning technologies, such as GPS, lasers and optics, solutions presented may include software content specific to the needs of the user. Trimble has recently announced changes to its GNSS, total station, scanning, imaging, field software, office software and cloud solutions.

All of these exciting new technologies will be presented and discussed at the dedicated Optron / Trimble stream to be held on the afternoon of Wednesday 12 August at Geomatics Indaba 2015. Optron and Trimble look forward to meeting with you at GI 2015!

Aciel / Leica dedicated stream:
Morning of Thru 13 August 2015

Aciel Geomatics, together with Leica Geosystems (part of the Hexagon Group), are presenting a dedicated stream on the morning of Thrusday 13 August at Geomatics Indaba 2015

The Aciel / Leica stream will focus on the latest hardware and software that was launched at Hexagon Live 2015. The software provides a quantum leap for the geomatics industry, and will put geomatics professionals at the very forefront of the exciting developments taking place in the world of communication, artificial intelligence, GPS tracking, 3D rendering and smart buildings (BIM). The new hardware platform is also designed around this fast growing 3D world, where users want more information faster, and in front of the decision makers in a shorter time. Users want more real-time information from all the sensors, more control over the data that is collected, and sensors that can learn the way we work and then repeat it on a daily, weekly or monthly cycle.

A full presentation of these new technologies, systems and software services will be presented at the Aciel / Leica stream to which all delegates at GI 2015 are cordially invited to attend.

GI 2015 UAV Airshow
Day of Monday 10 August 2015

The GI 2015 UAV Airshow will showcase a diverse range of UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) with manufacturers and service providers on hand to explain how the various UAVs are assembled, operated and used for accurate data collection. There will also be several flight simulators available at the airshow where delegates may try their hand at flying a UAV.

The GI 2015 UAV Airshow is intended to educate and inform the surveying, GIS and geospatial community on how to make best use of this emerging technology.

Various types and makes of UAVs will be exhibited at the GI 2015 UAV Airshow, and there will be demonstrations on the necessary safety-check procedures, practical demonstrations of take-off and landing procedures, as well as flying and data capturing capabilities.

Exhibitors will explain the applications for which their products are best suited, and delegates are encouraged to use this opportunity to educate and inform themselves on how to professionally incorporate UAV technology offerings into their current work practices.
