Eleventh IESSA Conference and AGM

Protea Hotel Midrand, Gauteng
The eleventh IESSA AGM and Conference will be hosted at the four-star Protea Hotel in Midrand, Gauteng (14th Street, Noordwyk extension 20, Halfway House).
The hotel is situated 6 km from the Gautrain Midrand station. Gaurain buses will transport delegates from the station to the hotel on week days. This shuttle service is available at R150 per person.
Registration fees paid before 31 March 2015 are R3990 per delegate (IESSA members) and R4332 for non-members, VAT inclusive.
Registration fees settled after 31 March 2015 will be R4332 per IESSA member and R4560 for delegates who are non-members, VAT inclusive.

Lighting Economics Course
10 and 11 March 2015
Cabanga Conference Centre, Johannesburg
This course will be presented by the IESSA Development Committee at the Cabanga Conference Centre, Johannesburg, on 10 and 11 March 2015, and will cover the following topics:
- Lumen method calculation.
- Lamps.
- Retrofitting T5.
- LED lamps.
- Ballast/drivers.
- Energy efficiency calculations.
- Maintenance cost of ownership.
Target delegates
- Building designers and interior and exterior decorators.
- Electrical contractors and energy service providers.
- Lighting equipment suppliers and buyers.
- Telesales.
- Electrical wholesalers and counter sales.
- Architects and building services.
- Engineers and electrical engineers.
- Professionals and students.
Course fees
The course will be presented at R4012 per person for IESSA members, and at R4766 per person for non-members, VAT inclusive.
The fee includes course notes, coffee, tea and biscuits, as well as lunch, an examination and certificate.
Seats are limited to 25 delegates.
Dates
The course will be presented on 10 and 11 March 2015. Registration takes place on 10 March at 08:00. The course will start at 09:00 promptly and will end at 17:00 on both days.

Lighting company expands solid state capabilities
Metal halide lighting solutions company Venture Lighting is to extend its focus to include solid state lighting. The company has announced that Keith Price, previously its MD for Europe, will lead the SSL business worldwide. Richard Morris will succeed him as Venture Lighting Europe MD.
