SANEA Action for Energy Workshop: Gas Industry Dialogue
The South African National Energy Association (SANEA) invites you, your friends, colleagues and all interested persons to attend an open dialogue on key short-term barriers and opportunities for the gas industry in South Africa.

The SANEA Action for Energy 2015 Workshop seeks to stimulate dialogue, exchange ideas and catalyse action on critical issues for a gas industry in South Africa. The programme provides for one keynote address followed by extensive interactive discussion by panels of experts in the field. The following topics will be addressed:
  • Key short term upstream barriers and opportunities
  • Key short term mid- and downstream barriers and opportunities
  • Barriers and opportunities for creating an attractive investment environment
This event has been accredited by the SAIEE for one CPD credit in terms of the ECSA CPD policy.

Training workshop on Cathodic Protection
DEHN Africa invites you, your colleagues and all interested persons to a two-day workshop on cathodic protection.

DATE: 26 and 27 February 2015
VENUE: House of Pharaoh's Conference Centre, Bryanston, Johannesburg
COST: R500 per delegate

Guest speakers will include Neil Webb, from Isinyithi Cathodic Protection, who has more than 20 years' experience and is a leading expert in cathodic protection; and Manfred Kienlein, manager for surge and lightning protection on cathodic protection at DEHN + Söhne, Germany.

The presentations will include sessions on: corrosion and cathodic protection; above ground pipelines; installation and testing of spark gaps; rectifier protection; AC and DC conventional ground beds; rectifiers and live loads; load equipment; intelligent PCR type VCSD; cathodic protection in hazardous environments; and lightning and surge protection on pipelines valve stations.

The training workshop will also provide ample Q&A and networking opportunities.

Electrical installations and earth testing seminar
Comtest invites you, your colleagues, friends and all interested persons to a seminar and training course, presented by John Wilson, on electrical Installations and earth testing.

DATE: Thursday 5 March 2015
TIME: 08h30 to 16h00, with lunch and refreshments be provided
VENUE: Comtest House, 10 Enterprise Close, Linbro Park
COST: Free-of-charge

The first session of this one day technical seminar will review the technology implemented by the various tests that need to be done during the design, installation and commissioning phases of a new electrical system.

The second session will look at what is required to maintain a live system to ensure that it operates efficiently, and most importantly, should a serious fault occur, that the system will absorb the fault energy and keep the system safe.

Tests will be demonstrated on a live installation where possible, as well as on a simulated system.

Attendance is free-of-charge but booking is essential to Jessica du Plessis, jduplessis@comtest.co.za. Space is limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
