Shops and Retail Lighting Design Course: Johannesburg, 7 April 2014
The Shops and Retail Lighting Course will be of value to all who design, use or maintain lighting systems, and in particular:

The course will be of value to those who design, use or maintain lighting systems, and in particular:

- Interior and exterior decorators
- Electrical contractors and energy service providers
- Lighting equipment suppliers and buyers
- Architects, building services engineers and electrical engineers
- Professionals and students requiring a basic knowledge of lighting
The course will cover:
- Lighting standards and OHS Act requirements
- Basic calculations
- Light sources and energy efficiency
- Interior lighting design (domestic, shops, offices, industry, hotels etc.)
- Exterior lighting design (urban centers, parks and gardens, floodlighting,
security etc.) - Light fittings and their use
- Emergency lighting

Lighting School: NMISA, Pretoria, 19 to 23 May 2014
The course will be of value to those who design and inspect lighting systems, and in particular:
- Municipal engineers, technicians and managers
- Building and industrial engineers, technicians and managers
- Electrical contractors and certified electricians
- Lighting equipment suppliers and buyers
- Electrical engineers - professionals and students who require competency to design and measure illumination levels at installations
The course will cover:
- Eye and vision
- Colour
- Units and terms, as well as the art and science used in illumination.
- Photometry
- Light sources and their control gear
- Interior design requirements, calculations and measurements of lighting.
- Luminaires - interior and exterior
- Emergency lighting regulations and design requirements
- Interior lighting of retail stores, hotels, restaurants, commercial and industrial buildings
- Use of light meters and actual site measurements for interior and exterior sites
- Street lighting requirements, calculations, design and measurements of lighting
- Exterior lighting requirements for façade, security, sports, precincts etc.
- Lighting economics & tariffs, and pay-back periods

Photometry Practical Course: SABS, Pretoria, 3 and 4 June 2014
This course will be of value to all who design, use or maintain lighting systems, and in particular:
- Building designers
- Interior and exterior decorators
- Energy service providers
- Lighting equipment suppliers
- Architects
- Building services engineers and electrical engineers
The course will cover:
- Calibration of light sources
- Integrating sphere photometry
- Distribution
- Goniometer photometry
The course will be of a practical nature and is specifically aimed at persons who require a better understanding of photometric measurements.
