Mechanical Technology in every issue of
Vector magazine, starting in
January 2014.
This new focus positions
Vector magazine as the leading industrial engineering magazine in South Africa, providing broad coverage of the mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, construction, installations, contracting and maintenance sectors.
This new focus on
mechanical technology in
Vector reflects the reality that the former silos between mechanical, electrical and automation in the mining, industrial and manufacturing workplace are breaking down, and multi-skilling is becoming more of the norm.
For example, a holistic view of the full
"drive train" comprises the electrical switchgear, the motor starter or variable speed drive, the electric motor, the mechanical power transmission system, and the mechanically driven machine itself.
Thus from January 2014,
Vector magazine will have
four main technical and market place sections, namely:

- Mechanical technology
- Construction, installations & contracting
