Energize RE: A special "Renewable Energy" supplement of Energize magazine, Feb 2014
  
After the successful first issue of Energize RE, the special Renewable Energy supplement Energize magazine in July 2013, EE Publishers is producing a second issue of Energize RE to be published in Feb 2014.


The second issue of Energize RE will focus on utility-scale renewable energy, and the successful bidders of the second and third first windows of the Department of Energy's Renewable Energy IPP programme.
  
The publication will therefore be a vital reference document for the electricity supply industry, and suppliers of products, systems and services to the emerging Renewable Energy sector in southern Africa.


CALL FOR PAPERS
 
 
This is a CALL FOR PAPERS in for the second issue of Energize RE on
Renewable Energy topics such as:
  • Basic listing of all successful REIPPP window 2 and 3 projects
  • Project infotorials of selected REIPPP window 2 and 3 projects
  • Progress on window 1, 2 and 3 projects - who is first on the grid
  • Financing - CDM, carbon credits - finance sources
  • Technology developments - PV, CSP, wind, inverters, etc.
  • Balance of plant for RE installations
  • Grid connection issues
  • Local manufacture and local content
  • Control, automation, communication, protection & monitoring 
  • Maintenance of RE plant - techniques and contracting issues
  • Rooftop PV
  • Own generation - as a supplement / alternative to REIPP
  • Overview of existing rooftop PV projects
  • Progress with community and social upliftment projects
Papers of approximately 2000 to 3000 words should be submitted in editable MS Word format. Papers should be generic in nature, and should not have an overtly self-serving or commercial content. Preference is given to original papers or papers that have not been published in South Africa before.
 
All papers are subject to EE Publishers standard editorial policy, and may be shortened or edited by the editor to suit the space and style requirements of Energize RE. For convenience in preparing your paper, you may use our standard paper style template.
 
Deadlines: Please submit the abstract / synopsis of your proposed paper as soon as possible, and the full-text paper in editable MS Word format by latest 15 January 2014.

CIRCULATION

Energize RE is separate to Energize magazine, but is mailed to 5000 individual recipients in the same envelope as the February 2014 edition of Energize. Each magazine mailed is estimated to reach an average of 2 to 3 readers, thus providing a readership of some 10 000 to 15 000 readers in southern Africa for Energize RE.

The 5000 recipients of Energize magazine, to which Energize RE is distributed, comprise officials, managers, engineers and technicians in the wider electricity supply industry (ESI) throughout the Southern African region, as well as to electricity end-users and other relevant stakeholders, including:

  • Electrical technicians, engineers and managers throughout the region
  • Neighbouring and regional Southern African electricity utilities
