Content of papers

Papers should be approximately 3000 to 4000 words in length, relevant to the themes and subject matter of the conference, of general interest and relevance to the target audience. While it is accepted that proprietary technologies, products and services may be described, papers should be generic in nature and should not have an overtly self-serving or commercial content. Authors and presenters should aim to serve the needs of readers and conference delegates, provide appropriate solutions, and share knowledge and experience.

Template and style-sheet

Papers must follow the defined paper template and style-sheet available at the SASGI 2013 conference website.

The selection process
  • Following a formal call for papers commencing 13 March 2013, the title, principal author, abstract/synopsis, brief CV of the presenter, and the final full-text paper in editable MS Word format must be submitted here by 18 June 2013.
  • The abstracts and papers received will be reviewed and selected by the SASGI 2013 papers committee based on their stature, significance, relevance, correctness, originality, clarity, availability of space, and other considerations.
  • Authors and presenters will be advised the outcome of the selection by 24 June 2013.
  • The final full-text papers for the conference CD and printed Proceedings of the SASGI 2013 Conference will then be collated and printed by 18 July 2013 for insertion into the delegate bags.
  • Powerpoint slide presentations of not more than 15 slides per presentation are required by 12 July 2013 for the conference CD which will be inserted into the delegate bags.
  • Presentations at the conference without a full-text paper that has been reviewed and accepted for publication in the conference proceedings will not be allowed.

Presenters may also use their own notebook PCs if preferred. Due to time limitations, the 20-minute presentations will be limited to 15 slides.
