CALL FOR PRESENTERS OF TRAINING WORKSHOPS
  
 
Call for presenters of commercial training
  
Vendors of surveying, GPS, GIS, remote sensing and location-based business products, systems and services are invited to host and present commercial training workshops and knowledge transfer sessions for Training streams 1, 2, 3 and 4 on 23 and 24 July 2013.
  
Call for presenters of non-commercial training
  
Non-commercial organisations, NGOs, institutes, government departments, universities, academia, post grad and undergrad students are invited to present non-commercial training workshops, knowledge transfer sessions and project presentations for Training streams 1, 2, 3 and 4 on 23 and 24 July 2013.

 

Purpose

  
There will be a significant emphasis at the SASGI 2013 conference and exhibition on education and training, skills upgrading, knowledge transfer, and continuing professional development, and presenters of commercial and non-commercial training are invited to present training workshops at SASGI 2013.
 
Training streams

Running in parallel with the SASGI 2013 conference, there will be four concurrent training workshop streams (Training stream 1, 2, 3 and 4), each offering hands-on training and knowledge transfer over two days (23 and 24 July 2013).
  
The trainings streams are arranged in 1-hour training blocks over two days (45-minute training followed by a 15-minute break), and are available for training by both commercial companies and non-commercial organisations, NGOs, institutes, government departments, universities, academia, post grad and undergrad students, etc.
  
Training facilities provided
  
The training workshops will be conducted in four fully equipped training rooms.
  
Training room 1 will be kitted out with a screen, digital projector and notebook PC for the presenter, with chairs arranged cinema style to accommodate 60 trainees.
  
Training rooms 2, 3 and 4 will each be kitted out with a screen, digital projector and notebook PC for the presenter, and 15 notebook PCs connected on a wireless LAN, to accommodate 30 trainees (two trainees per laptop PC), with chairs and tables arranged classroom style.
  
Costs
  
The cost for a commercial workshop training slot is R5000 + VAT per one-hour block, while non-commercial workshop training slots are free-of-charge.
  
Important deadline dates
  
30 May 2013: Submission training workshop proposals
15 June 2013: Notification of acceptance of training workshop proposals
30 June 2013: Registration of presenters of accepted training workshops
