CALL FOR PAPERS

PAC World Africa 2013: A conference on
power system protection, automation & control
  
Protection, automation and control specialists from industry and academia around the world are invited to submit abstracts for PAC World Africa 2013, a conference on power system protection, automation and control.

DATES: 30 July - 2 August 2013
VENUE: Cape Town, South Africa

Papers should cover one or more of the following topics:

  10. Multifunctional protection IEDs and their applications in transmission and distribution systems
  11. Advanced protection, automation & control functions and applications
  12. Adaptive protection
  13. System integrity protection schemes (SIPS)
  14. Synchrophasors, applications and benefits
  15. Testing of devices, distributed functions and systems
  16. Power quality
  17. Automatic fault analysis
  18. Substation automation
  19. Distribution automation
  20. Home automation
  21. Impact of wind power on PAC
  22. Distributed energy resources integration
  23. Asset management and condition monitoring
  24. Engineering of protection, automation and control systems
  25. Visualisation, situational awareness
  26. Wide area disturbances analysis and lessons learned
  27. Protection operation analysis and lessons learned
  28. Power system education challenges for professionals and administrators
  29. Standardisation of protection, automation and control systems
  30. Any other protection, automation and control related topic
Abstracts

Abstracts should be around 500 words. The authors should keep in mind that the focus of their papers should be on presenting challenges, applications, solutions and ideas related to the above topics in a non-commercial and practical manner.

Each abstract should be submitted as a Word document, and should include the following information:
  • Topic number (from the list above) with which the paper is associated
  • Paper title
  • Authors' names
  • Authors' affiliation
  • Country
  • E-mail address of the main author
  • Abstract of arround 500 words
Abstracts that do not contain this information will not be considered for acceptance.

Papers

Papers accepted for oral presentation at the conference will be included in the programme. The selection of these papers will be based on the full papers submitted by the authors after the initial abstract acceptance.
