Recently, I read that nature reacts to stress by taking a rest. Specifically, there is a pull of the moon on our great planet's oceans. This creates the neap and ebb tides. At the changing of the high and low there is a brief period called 'slack tide' when water is neither high nor low.
As an entrepreneur your life is filled with many tasks that require your attention. Day-in and day-out you are constantly bombarded with issues such as correspondence, sales, marketing, and staying up-to-date in your chosen industry or field.
On top of all that some of you have a family to attend to, with their constant demand for your attention. Children and spouses vie for your attention, especially when you are in the middle of a very important phone call or task. I'll share something germane with you, as I was writing that last sentence I had a call I had to take. Now that IS timing, eh?
With all this tug-of-war going on, like me, there are times that you probably feel the stress of life. And like the tide, you need to remember to take time to rest once in a while.
Set your responsibilities aside; rest and rejuvenate. When you do you will find yourself refreshed and reinvigorated. It is when you fail to take this much needed rest that you become overwhelmed.
If you need permission to breathe, I'm giving it to you right now. Get up, get out of your office chair, and spend some quiet time. For some, this may entail just going outside for a bit of fresh air, for others it may mean some pampering time is in order, while still others may need a day's outing.
No matter what you choose or need, make sure that it isn't another activity that allows you to take your business with you. No stops at the post office to drop off a package, no meetings with clients, nada. This is your 'me time' and you certainly deserve it!
