Dallas County Democratic Party
Weekly Roundup
Democratic news from Dallas County
 and beyond.
Tuesday May 3 2016
Early Voting Starts Monday For The Democratic Primary Runoffs

Early Voting for this year's Democratic Primary Runoffs will begin next Monday, May 16, and run ONLY through Friday, May 20. There will NOT be any Early Voting on weekend days this time. The polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM each Early Voting Day.

This will be at the usual locations with two exceptions for this election:
DeSoto Town Center Library has been replaced with Disciple Central Community Church, 900 N Polk St #170, DeSoto, TX 75115.
The Records Building in downtown Dallas has been replaced with the George L. Allen Sr Courts Bldg., 600 Commerce St., Dallas 75202.

You can find a list of all the Early Voting locations and links to a map as a pdf at http://www.dallascountyvotes.org/wp-content/uploads/EVLocationsPR.pdf

If you miss voting early or by mail, then you will have to vote in your own assigned local precinct on Tuesday, May 24, also from 7 AM to 7 PM. Check your location first because the inadequate budget given both parties for this election by the Texas Secretary of State has required both to consolidate a lot of locations. The list for May 24 is at
http://www.dallascountyvotes.org/wp-content/uploads/WEB-DEM-Election-Day-Polling-Primary-Run-Off-Locations.pdf

Note: You CAN still vote in the Runoff even if you did not vote in the Primary. The only restriction is that you cannot vote in one party's primary and in the other party's runoff in the same year.

Ames (42%) and Bennie Elenora Brown (25%). There will also be a runoff for Constable, Precinct No. 1, between Tracey Gulley (44%) and Mae Jackson (34%).

Help Make It A Democratic New Year!

Start (Or Renew) Your Sustaining Membership In the Dallas County Democratic Party

The Sustaining Membership is an opportunity for Democrats to show their support for the party. As you know, the party operates to serve the party membership, elected officials, candidates and other activists and voters throughout the county. The members are the backbone of the party. Their continuous activities keep Democrats in office, and keep our values alive in a sea of RED.

The challenges to our issues and candidates always need support. That support comes from a viable party office.  As you can imagine, it costs plenty to keep us running and keep us BLUE. The only way to make sure the office is fully funded is through Sustaining Member contributions. Your regular donation of as little as $10 a month is an investment in the future of the local Democratic Party. Thank you for your contributions and concern for DCDP.

We have several levels of Sustaining Memberships, each with its own category name and benefits. Read about them all and choose your level to get (or renew) your Sustaining Membership at this page
