TODAY: Ready For Hillary Tour Bus Stop And Rally In Fort Worth

National speculation says Hillary Clinton may soon announce her decision about a presidential bid in 2016. More than 100 are expected to show their support by attending the Ready for Hillary tour bus stop in downtown Fort Worth Wednesday, hosted by the local Tarrant for Hillary group.

North Texans are invited to attend the free tour stop rally Wednesday, December 17, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., at Cowtown Diner, 305 Main Street, in Sundance Square in Fort Worth. Attendees may tour the tour bus, and then enjoy a complimentary reception inside the diner, led by Congressman Marc Veasey.

Fort Worth City Council Mayor Pro Tem Sal Espino, Haltom City Council Member Stephanie Davenport, Justice of the Peace Sergio De Leon, Tarrant County Democratic Party Chair Deborah Peoples and President of the International Association of Machinists Local 776 Tim Smith will share brief remarks.

[Editor's note: The DCDP and the Roundup do not endorse candidates in primary contests. There are also several other possible Democratic candidates for President that are also all far better than anyone seeking the Republican nomination. If those other Democrats have local events, we will list them as well.]

January 31:
Blue In The Heart Of Texas 2

BITHOT is a biennial summit for Democratic Party activists and volunteers that was first organized in 2013. The first BITHOT attracted several hundred people from Dallas County and surrounding counties. BITHOT's mission is to create a forum for sharing experiences, ideas and plans to empower Democrats in the North Texas region.

The BITHOT structure is a one-day summit with plenary sessions in the morning, a lunch break, and afternoon "KnowledgeFest" breakout sessions on specific topics that people can choose according to their interests.

BITHOT 1 introduced a wide range of campaign best practices and included plenary sessions focused on Latino outreach. The goal was to push information and ideas out to interested people, spark open conversations to gain new perspectives, create an atmosphere of shared purpose, and ultimately empower people to act effectively.

BITHOT 2 will focus on reviewing the 2014 election cycle, discussing lessons learned and paths forward for 2016, and presenting preliminary research and outreach plans for 2015. The goal is to help orient activity in Dallas County and other surrounding counties to maximize our effectiveness in 2016.

The popular "KnowledgeFest" afternoon program will focus on a number of topics including sessions dedicated to rural and suburban counties, setting up between-cycle research and outreach programs, launching county party internship programs, voter registration (including an official training and opportunity to be deputized for those who are not already deputy registrars), and implementing municipal cycle outreach to encourage voting behavior, among other topics.

Major underwriters have covered most of the cost of the event. Your donation of $5 is to cover costs for a catered on-premises lunch.
