Legislative Candidates Campaigning In Homestretch

Volunteers joined Susan Motley for State Representative HD 105 to walk on Saturday.

Meanwhile Carol Donovan for State Representative HD 107 (seen here with a storm victim working on cleanup) is making sure residents know her opponent is in the pocket of big insurance -- a bill he filed would have allowed homeowners to be dropped from their insurance policies for filing more than one claim during the life of the policy. How does that make sense with unpredictable Texas weather? Watch Carol's new ads on YouTube:

Kenneth Sheets: Looking out for big insurance. Leaving you out in the rain.

Kenneth Sheets: A leader who's been to spin class instead of math class.

In Paul Stafford's campaign for State Representative HD 115, his campaign sign is back up at Valley View and Holbrook in Farmers Branch after being torn down the night of Oct. 3 by the most recent acts of night-crawling trespassers on private property.

And for State Representative HD 102, George Clayton now has yard signs available.

Thank You, Myrtis!

From the desk of Senator Royce West: It is official! Myrtis O. Evans is retiring. After 21 + years as my Lead Caseworker, Myrtis retired September 30, 2014. Please post to this site [see Sept. 29] any warm wishes, email her, or call her at 214-467-0123. She will be missed but DESERVES this well earned rest after 28 years of service to the State of Texas. I couldn't have done it without her.

From Bill Howell: Myrtis has been one of the pillars of the Democratic Party, serving for very many years as a Precinct Chair, Election Judge (when Senator West had no opponent on the ballot), as a key activist and advisor in ways too numerous to list, and has also been a major player in Conventions. She is one of the most reliable, honest, and trusted people in local politics. Personally, I am most grateful to her for nominating me when I was elected County Chair in 1999, and for the mountainous task of serving as Chair of Nominations when I chaired the 2008 23rd Senate District Convention. Thank you again!
