Club of the Month: Dallas County Young Democrats

The Dallas Young Democrats is an organization open to 14 - 40 year olds who believe in the ideals of the Democratic Party. In other words, we're young North Texans working for a better tomorrow for everyone in our community.

As one of the fastest-growing Democratic clubs in the Dallas area, and one of the largest Young Democrats groups in the nation, our organization offers a unique opportunity for young adults looking to get involved in the Dallas community and politics.

Our monthly meetings feature speakers from around Dallas and the nation. From elected officials to grassroots activists, we offer our members a wide range of perspectives on the current political climate and issues important to young Democrats.

But there's more to the DCYDs than just meetings -- we also volunteer for local Democratic campaigns and other worthwhile causes and send delegations around the country for national YD events.

Next Meeting:
Tuesday, November 12th
The Foundry, 2303 Pittman St, Dallas, TX 75208
6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Precinct Chair Filing Is Underway

Filing for Precinct Chairs for the 2014 Primary began on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at the Dallas County Democratic Party office, 4209 Parry at Fletcher, Dallas. Filing lasts through 6:00 PM on Monday, December 9.

We have the filing forms available at the party office, or they can be downloaded and printed from the Secretary of State's website as a pdf at this page. You will need to fill in the blanks with "Precinct" before "Chair", and with "Democratic" before "Primary". We can accept filings by mail if they are already notarized. Find more information on our website at our Precinct Chair page.

Who's Running?

After November 9, when filing begins for public office in 2014, the DCDP will post an official list on our website (as will the Texas party in Austin). Until then, my own totally unofficial tally of announcements (or rumors) with links to websites, updated through yesterday, is at this page. Email me if you have more or better info and I'll update and correct this day by day. If you aren't here, tell me you're running and you will be on it. If I don't know it, I can't show it.
