Voice of the Scout Survey
The Voice of the Scout program was adopted as a key way to collect experience feedback and deliver upon the expectation of members as they participate in Scouting.
Look for an email from the Boy Scouts of America in your inbox soon if you have not already received it! Scouts & Venturers over 14, parents, volunteers and chartered organizations are being sent (via email) the Voice of the Scout Survey. The surveys have been designed to be very brief but will give needed insight into the variety of experiences at the unit and district level within our council. We welcome all opinions/responses and hope that every survey recipient in our council will participate!

Youth Protection is of the upmost importance to all of us as we serve the youth in our Packs, Troops, Crews and Explorer Posts. For a while now, Youth Protection training has been mandatory for all who have volunteered to be adult leaders. We are aware that for some, completing the Youth Protection Training in a timely manner has become a challenge.
The council's Youth Protection Champion Committee was created to help unit leaders complete Youth Protection Training in a timely manner and avoid delays in rechartering. As a committee, they monitor Adult leader Youth Protection status, and as you and your leaders' training nears expiration, they will contact you and provide the means to get your Youth Protection Training current.
The Youth Protection Champion for our Council is Mike Richardson from Logansport, Indiana. Mike brings more than 20 years of Scouting experience and leadership to this position. The District Representatives are: North Star District - Cheryl Heuer
Peshewa District - Diane Carman
Wabash Valley District - Raf Tordil
We appreciate the efforts of our Youth Protection Champions, and with their help we are doing better as a council! Your District Youth Protection Champion will be contacting your unit in the next few months or weeks to introduce himself or herself and to offer any assistance you may need to ensure your unit is 100% Youth Protection Trained. Thank you for your attention to this. We look forward to serving you and your youth to make sure everyone involved in Scouting has a safe, enjoyable experience.
Units still requiring Youth Protection Training to complete their recharter for 2015 are:

Training
Please help us keep your trainings up to date. Look at your Training Records on My.Scouting.org, if there are missing trainings or incorrect training information on your record, please call Laura at the Hingst Service Center 800-844-0537.
Advancement
It is important to report Advancement as soon as your Scouts earn it. Even if you are not going to give recognitions until later, please turn Advancements in to the Hingst Service Center when they are earned. There are a lot of new Cub Scouts that were recruited this fall; these Scouts should have earned their Bobcat by now. If you have Scouts that have earned their Bobcat and you have not sent in Advancements on them, please do so.
Campmasters
We are always looking for good volunteers to serve as Campmasters at Camp Buffalo and Cary Camp. If you are interested in serving in this capacity contact Don Harper at 765-860-4474.
Service Hours
If your unit has done service hours this past year and you have not logged them on myscouting.org please contact Chas Triplett with your information. We know all units do service; it is very important that we log these hours. We are willing to help you with this if you don't want to do it on your own.
