Dr. Katz Discusses mHealth Challenges at American Association of Advancement of Sciences

Dr. Katz participated in a panel discussion at the American Association of Advancement of Sciences on "Exploring Legal Challenges to Fulfilling the Potential of mHealth in a Safe and Responsible Environment." He discussed applications and challenges from a stakeholder perspective and presented the GW experience on the real world application of mobile health.

Institute Faculty Prep Howard University Cardiology Fellows

This August, Drs. Katz, Nagy, and Panjrath presented a Cardiology Boot Camp on heart failure, cardiovascular hemodynamics, and stress testing to new cardiology fellows at Howard University Hospital.

William Borden, MD, Joins GW Cardiology Faculty

  

William Borden, MD, FACC, FAHA joins the cardiology faculty as an Associate Professor of Medicine and the Director of Healthcare Delivery Transformation. He specializes in preventive cardiology, the treatment of complex cholesterol disorders, and diagnosing and treating general cardiovascular diseases. In addition to practicing cardiology, Dr. Borden leads the GW's accountable care organization and other care improvement efforts. 


 

Dr. Borden was previously on faculty at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and has served as a medical officer and senior advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He has a strong interest in community outreach, previously serving as the medical director of a free heart disease screening clinic in medically underserved areas. Dr. Borden's research focuses on policy approaches to improving quality of care and has been published in journals such as JAMA, JAMA Internal Medicine, Circulation, and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He serves on the editorial boards of Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes and Current Atherosclerosis Reports.
