Talk with the Doc: FAQ's
Question:  Now that the weather has changed, one of the biggest things I notice since starting to lose the weight is how cold I am. Why is this?

Amber Oberheim, APN says:  Many people will report feeling cold after significant weight loss. This could be due to a few different things, but most commonly is a result of fat loss which is exactly what you were trying to achieve! You have lost your insulation and will now need to dress in layers in order to maintain a comfortable temperature. However, if your sensation of feeling cold seems extreme, please follow-up with your primary care provider to make sure you aren't dealing with anemia or an underlying thyroid condition. Congratulations on your weight loss success!

  Tips for Success

'Tis the season for Holiday parties and all kinds of diet wrecking temptations.  When going to a holiday party, eat before going so you are not hungry when you get there. Bring a veggie dish that you can have to share.

Try some light exercise that will get you in the holiday spirit like ice skating or even mall walking.

Remember to make time for yourself during the hectic holiday season and still prepare your meals ahead.  Slip-ups happen when you miss meals and allow yourself to get over hungry.

Remember, losing weight is only half the battle! Maintenance is even more challenging!  Identify your habits now!
