GardenShare's Bimonthly Newsletter  |  April 2015
Volume 15 No. 2
Changes to the GardenShare newsletters

For the last few years, GardenShare has sent these e-newsletters every other month and had no paper newsletters. We know that not everyone has e-mail and even those of us who do can't always find the time to open and read everything we receive.

So, we've decided to add two paper newsletters with some key updates of interest to our calendar.  Look for one coming out soon.  It includes information about GardenShare's revised mission statement and the projects we will be working on this year.  As a result, what would have been a full e-newsletter for April will just be a few updates!

We hope you like the new paper newsletter.  Feel free to send your feedback!
Spring Is Finally Here! Look for your Local Food Guide in the mail soon.

Many of our local growers have been busy in their greenhouses. Salad greens will be available soon, as well as asparagus, winter spinach, spring dug parsnips and more.  The St. Lawrence County 2015 Local Food Guide is just going to press and will be available in mid-May. If you are on our mailing list, you will get one in the mail. If you don't already get mail from us, email your mailing address and we'll send you the Guide hot off the press.

And congratulations to Laura Popielski who took this great photo of local food and won our contest!
Save the date - GardenShare Annual Dinner

GardenShare's annual fundraising dinner will be on Tuesday, June 9, at a new location - Jake's on the Water in Hannawa Falls.

Save the date and look for an invitation in the mail soon!

Another change for this year's dinner will be a silent auction. Can you help us with a donation of goods, services, or a gift certificate for the auction?  Get in touch with us at info@gardenshare.org or 315-261-8054.

Bonus Bucks '15

GardenShare's program to help make CSA accessible to more families still has some room for more families for the 2015 season.

This program successfully provides high quality, healthy food for program participants, while at the same time bringing new market to our direct market farmers.

Eligibility and more information can be found here.

 Gifts to give?

Gift giving occasions are coming up - Mothers Day, Fathers Day, graduations.  It's always better to shop local, but if you do shop online, remember that if you shop at smile.amazon.com, you can support GardenShare with a portion of your purchase.
