Chris Flisher
Chris Flisher has been a student of astrology ever since he had his first chart done at age 20. At the time, a perfect stranger asked him his astrology coordinates (birthdate /place /time) and within a few days he had the most amazingly accurate account of himself that he had ever read; delivered by a person who had no previous knowledge of him.
Chris has spent the rest of his time researching, understanding, and practicing astrology. Much like medicine, astrology is a practice  and a deep complex science/art requiring years of experience and research. Astrologers must work with both scientific data and intuition.  Chris was recently awarded a "Top Ten Astrologers" award and is celebrating his fourth continuous year of broadcasting as the host of the weekly radio show, "Turning Of The Wheel" on Contact Talk Radio.

"The Time of the Signs"

As we enter into an intense period of forthcoming planetary activity we will have the perfect opportunity to see if the outer planets do, in fact, hold sway over our evolution. This poses an interesting question, especially for those who are on the fence about astrology. It may be easy to cast off astrology as silly, but what happens when it is accurate? What happens when you read your weekly report and it happens to be true? How do you explain themes in your life? And how can an astrologer know so much detail about you with a few simple facts about time and place? What then?

Astrologers were talking about many of our current events over two decades ago when we saw the entry of Pluto into Capricorn as a time when many of our biggest, most trusted structures would, in fact, crumble and either be rebuilt, or vanish. Things we once thought of as unshakeable have come under duress and are now falling down. This is classic Pluto in Capricorn activity. Pluto is the great transformer and, when in Capricorn, a cardinal earth sign, we can expect (as predicted) that large structures, institutions, and foundational entities to fall away and are no longer the secure structures we once thought. We have seen this repeatedly over the last decade as the banking industry, the government, the church, and other large institutions have come under much tighter scrutiny as they show their true colors with so much hidden, for so many years. We were duped. However, the truth always prevails. This is a universal fact and not the credo of any religious, political or philosophical view. Truth is basic and common to all. So where does that leave us?

This planetary activity is accompanied by the presence of Uranus in the sign of Aries. Since Aries is a cardinal sign (fire) it sits in a 90 degree angle to Pluto in Capricorn (cardinal earth). If we look at the astrology chart or wheel we see the current lineup of planets. Pluto is at 90 degrees to Uranus. This geometric relationship represents a challenge, or a step up. The 90 degree angle is one of the basic elements of architecture and all human structure. A simple set of stairs are constructed with 90 degree angles. The step is the best way to envision the challenges. As we move up the stair, lifting ourselves, we make progress through work and forward, upward motion. This is astrology.

What is the role of the planets in our daily lives? Many believe that they do nothing, and yet they are the only real constant that we have in our cosmic neighborhood. They have been there forever and their position does correlate with history, cycles, and recurring themes. In their inter-relationship we begin to see patterns that suggest a logical order and a predictable timing of events. When the Sun and Moon move into the sign of Cancer this summer we will again see another 90 degree angle of cancer (cardinal water) to Aries (cardinal fire) and opposing Pluto at 180 degrees. Events are triggered by the sharp angles and again, we take a step.

This is also true when an astrology chart is cast, based on birth date/place/time. Themes do exist in our lives and they are apparent from the time of our birth. We are born with characteristics, personalities, assets and liabilities, all of which, present us with unique challenges and opportunities. Whether we choose to acknowledge them in terms of time and place is the line between what we see as real and that which we see as impossible. When we stretch our minds to entertain that which may appear unlikely, we may be surprised by a universal logic that supersedes our limited view. This is verifiable each and every week as we see events unfold in a pattern related to the motion of our universe. This is the time of the signs.

Monthly Astrology Forecast ~ May 2013

Week of May 6th

A dramatic week ahead as a new Moon Solar eclipse occurs at 19 degrees Taurus. Eclipses bring all sorts of corrections and surprises our way. This particular eclipse finds fiery Mars, talkative Mercury, and of course our emotional well-spring, the Moon, deep in the middle of the Taurus event. We can expect the rhetoric to be quite inflaming and even hostile. Again, stubborn is the word. Cold, hard facts are immoveable. This is an incredibly fervent area where the problems that brought us here may have come to a screeching halt. The train is coming off the tracks and the responsibility lies in the hands of the large banks. They must be held accountable for the economic mess they have wrought on the world's financial security. The bubble has been falsely inflated and we may wake up to find that the bubble has popped. What does that look like? How does this machine keep on working? Will there be transparency? How do we repair this?

Week of May 13th

The dust may have settled and the news may be out, but what about damage control? Where do we go once the secret is out? This should be a time for action. We may see a quick response on the world's stage as we seek collective stability and economic order. Early in the week we see the Moon gracefully drifting through the early degrees of her ruler, Cancer, and connecting with responsible Saturn and lofty, dreamy Neptune, both in the other water signs, Scorpio and Pisces respectfully. While this time may be brief, it may offer solace for the turmoil of the eclipse and provide a preview of what we can expect later this summer when we have the grand water trine, a harmonious and powerful alignment of Jupiter in Cancer along with Saturn in Scorpio and, again Neptune in Pisces all at 4 degrees. While this generally harmonious alignment does bode well for "doing the right thing," it's greatest effect may be softening the harsh reality being driven by the Pluto Uranus square which will be occurring at the same time.

Week of May 20th

The words may be flying this week as Jupiter and Mercury cojoin towards the end of the week in Gemini, the sign of communication. Thankfully, Venus joins the conversation to sweeten the end result. Jupiter, as you know, expands and enlivens all that it touches; and that can go either way so be aware. Big talk can be big and nasty or big and nice. I think it will be big and nice thanks to Venus. What does that look like on the great stage? How about major bills get passed in the US congress. Guns may finally come under some sort of control. We could see other bold statements emerge as well. This may turn out to be an incredibly historic time with a Lunar eclipse lurking in the wings slated for this weekend. Coming in at 4 degrees Sagittarius, this eclipse will trigger off the Jupiter, Mercury, Venus alignment in Gemini and words may fly like never before as the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) especially feel the impact of the Moon.

Week of May 27th

Words and expressions of depth are much more apparent as the die-hard dedication of Saturn comes into a pleasing and softer relationship to idealistic and elusive Neptune. The questions that come to mind during this period are: are we seeing events and actions clearly? What purpose do they ultimately serve? How do we expand with responsibility? It may be that the sentiment has to match the demand. Of course with Uranus and Pluto moving closer to an exact square the tension may be quite tangible and visceral. This is an unprecedented time, full of surprises, unexpected outcomes, and breakthroughs. Much of what we learn and encounter can come in the form of these types of events and themes. Expect the unexpected to occur; and of course, be prepared. One of the redeeming qualities of this week will be the conjunction of, Venus and Jupiter in light and lofty Gemini where they can freely expand (Jupiter) and express themselves with kindness (Venus). A few degrees further and we find Mercury in the early degrees of Cancer.
