Chris Flisher has been a student of astrology ever since he had his first chart done at age 20. At the time, a perfect stranger asked him his astrology coordinates (birthdate /place /time) and within a few days he had the most amazingly accurate account of himself that he had ever read; delivered by a person who had no previous knowledge of him.Chris has spent the rest of his time researching, understanding, and practicing astrology. Much like medicine, astrology is a practice and a deep complex science/art requiring years of experience and research. Astrologers must work with both scientific data and intuition. Chris was recently awarded a "Top Ten Astrologers" award and is celebrating his fourth continuous year of broadcasting as the host of the weekly radio show, "Turning Of The Wheel" on Contact Talk Radio.

"In Like A Lion, Out Like A Lion"
|
The common phrase for this time of year is that March "roars in like a lion and goes out like a lamb." This notion sprang from the winds that usually kick in and herald the arrival of the Sun and longer days and warmer temperatures as April appears. This year, that may be true for the weather, but it is hardly the case for the astrological forecast. We have a planetary party that will likely bring down the house this month as the activity shifts from Pisces to Aries. And this is no small backyard bar-b-que. This party includes the entire block and then some.
Let's begin with some of the details. As the Sun moved into Pisces in late February it was joined (in the same position) with Mercury, Mars, the Sun and Neptune (which has not been in Pisces for 164 years.) So, to say that a special guest arrived at the party is, indeed, an understatement. Neptune casts an enormously influential theme over the party as illusion, addiction, delusion, and fantasy all come along in his bag of tricks. This is the planet that rules over the subconscious, escapism, and all things dealing with the psyche; the good parts and the bad. When in Pisces, Neptune's influence is at home; meaning that the presence of those types of events and themes are more likely, or at least, we are more aware of them.
Later, in the month Venus spices up the party. Every mutable sign (Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius) will have felt the impact of this powerful time. This party unfolded as we saw major political and social events occur on the world's stage; the Pope resigns unexpectedly, the fiscal cliff appears, Bradley Manning is on trial, Syria heats up, the Oscars happen, and the list goes on as humanity shifts to meet this rising swell of historic events. This is a Pisces party to say the least, especially when you consider the symbolism of many of the events. The fish (Pisces, Icthus) is the symbol of the church. For the Pope to resign at such a time is actually quite profound and symbolic. (Consult me individually if you wish more information on that subject. chris@chrisflisher.com.)
This has brought a lion-like carnival (add the cruise ship debacle) of events as Pisces unfolded. Now with Aries standing in the wings, we have no gentle lamb awaiting, but an even mightier lion with an even bolder roar, beginning as Mars enters Aries on March 12th on the heels of a new Moon on March 11th. Arriving at its home rulership, Mars is particularly flamboyant and visible in Aries, a cardinal fire sign. At home and comfortable in the fiery realm of Aries, Mars sets the stage on fire with all sorts of action, aggression, ambition and aspiration. Mars is also an impulsive, impetuous planet so prepare for fireworks as other planets gather in. The most notable planet that Mars joins is Uranus. Uranus has not been in this position for 84 years, which brings us back to 1929, when the Great Depression and the early rumblings of WW II were already in the air. As Mars starts to apply (get closer by degree) to Uranus we can expect to see dramatic events. Uranus tends to be rebellious, revolutionary, inventive and innovative, so a full gamut of events are likely. Dramatic does not always imply disaster. That is important. Great discoveries, treaties and other types of positive events are also likely. A week later Mercury ends its retrograde cycle on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th and the celebration could be especially lively as everyone dons their green. Mercury will be next to Neptune so the possibility of over-imbibing is quite real. As we know, Neptune is the planet of escapism, so be wary.
By the time the Sun reaches the Aries Point (the first degree of Aries) and the Vernal Equinox we have three planets in close proximity (Uranus, the Sun and Mars) with Venus joining the gang on the 21st and bringing a lustrous light to events. The Aries Point is known for its ability to drawn fame and recognition so be mindful of that. At the same time the Moon will be moving through Cancer, a cardinal sign (water, initiation) and completing a square (90 degrees) to the Sun, Mars and Uranus. The Moon rules our emotions so things could get quite tense and, yet, the best is yet to come. At this point from March 20th to the 22nd just about anything goes with regard to scandals, aggression, exposure of major figures, and passages of significant bills. The major themes for this period are speed and drama.
If that weren't enough, we have an incredibly powerful Full Moon approaching on March 27th at 6 degrees Libra. As you may know, Libra is another cardinal sign (air, initiation) that feeds directly into an explosive mix of planetary energy. At the time of the Full Moon, Mars will be in a challenging aspect to Pluto and the possibility of aggression is quite real. Both planets share Scorpio as a co-ruler and with Saturn holding court in Scorpio we can rest assured that a correction or scandal will appear that might involve some very high-placed characters. (I have my thoughts on who they may be, but you are best contacting me individually for that information.)
To summarize, we'll have Mars, Venus, Sun, and Uranus all squaring Pluto and opposing the Moon in Libra for the Full Moon on March 27th. All of these planets are in cardinal signs which indicate new beginnings and initiation. This is a cosmic Molotov cocktail if ever there was one. Let's hope that events turn in a positive direction, but we should prepare nonetheless. Not all events spell catastrophe and it is important to remember that positive change occurs through action, though difficult at times. Hold good intention as your guide and practice self-awareness. Aim for justice, since it is long overdue yet it can prevail. Contact me at chris@chrisflisher.com for more information about YOUR specific horoscope.

Monthly Astrology Forecast ~ March 2013
| |
Week of March 4th
A gathering of five planets in the sign of Pisces brings to light a highly imaginative and empathetic tone for many of us. This may seem as if everyone wants to express their feelings in some manner. While many of us are reluctant to show a certain side of ourselves, circumstances and the subtle influence of Saturn, in fellow water sign Scorpio, may urge us to open up regardless of our existing patterns. Saturn brings an interesting quality to the general conversation. Rather than avoid or shirk from opening up, we may find that it somehow feels better if we share our thoughts with others. This may be viewed as an opening or deepening of the human connection brought about by the nebulous planet of Neptune in Pisces. What does it feel like to express? Art, in all its variations, might be a natural outlet for our thoughts. Neptune brings out the illusive so use your cameras to start a conversation, maybe?
Week of March 11th
The week begins with a new Moon in Pisces at 21 degrees. With Venus nearby, the promise of the new Moon allows us to set our intentions in the proper light. New Moons are great for setting a goal and plan for the month to come. And the motive should be there as Mars hovers right at the edge of Pisces early in the week before entering its natural ruler, Aries, leading up to the Aries point which occurs next week. We may feel a rising boldness and a desire to forge forward, especially as Mars charges into spring time and its home of Aries. Aries loves beginnings and Mars is the planet of action, ambition, and aggression. Together they form a dynamo of unstoppable, youthful energy that sings of birth, renewal and innovation.
Week of March 18th
Somethin's shakin on Aries Street so get on down and see what's happening in that piece of your astrology pie. Mars and Uranus are conjoined at 8 degrees Aries and the sparks of innovation should be dancing everywhere. These two planets are made for each other simply because they both represent aspects of ambition, impulse, and innovation. Mars rules Aries and is the embodiment of action, ambition, aggression and impulse. This is a spark that charges forward with little regard for second guesses. When you combine that with the lofty and electric Uranus you have a recipe for innovation and invention unlike any other. It was on March 11, 2011 when Uranus first stepped into Aries for the first time since 1927, and we witnessed the tsunami in Japan. While we don't know what nature has in store, we should not run to fear for the same potential exists for positive events as well. That brings us to the Sun and Venus who are both touching the Aries Point, the spotlight trigger for fame and public notice. They bring a lightness that transcends and perhaps lifts the dialog to a higher level.
Week of March 25th
There is a mighty powerful collection of initiating action this week as the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Uranus all gather in a close conjunction in Aries. With Mars at home in its ruling sign, this feisty player may light the fuse that sets off the fireworks. This can be a wonderfully rich period for new beginnings and sweeping changes. Uranus has not been in this position for 84 years and when it combines with Mars and Venus the electricity may be a truly fabulous event (or series) to witness. It may be important to understand that events leave us changed when they occur. We cannot stay in the same place once we bear witness to something substantial, for they change us at our core. We must also try and place these events in a framework of necessity and progress, though. It is through significant and meaningful changes that we evolve, so we should welcome what comes our way.
