Chris Flisher
Chris Flisher has been a student of astrology ever since he had his first chart done at age 20. At the time, a perfect stranger asked him his astrology coordinates (birthdate /place /time) and within a few days he had the most amazingly accurate account of himself that he had ever read; delivered by a person who had no previous knowledge of him.
Chris has spent the rest of his time researching, understanding, and practicing astrology. Much like medicine, astrology is a practice  and a deep complex science/art requiring years of experience and research. Astrologers must work with both scientific data and intuition.  Chris was recently awarded a "Top Ten Astrologers" award and is celebrating his fourth continuous year of broadcasting as the host of the weekly radio show, "Turning Of The Wheel" on Contact Talk Radio.

"Agape ~ The Astrology of Love"
At first glance the word brings to mind a mouth wide open, locked in place. And although that is accurate, there is another meaning and pronunciation for the word. In this other sense and definition, "agape" has three syllables and signifies the concept of universal love. Universal love, by definition is not bound by physical love nor by the tangible affections we come to know commonly, as love. It is, rather, the love of humankind and is the very essence of love at its core. In this capacity, agape is love in its purest, most basic, spiritual form.

As we approach that highly commercial and visible day; Valentine's Day, we also stand on the brink of Venus entering Aquarius on February 2nd. In astrology, Venus represents harmony, beauty, good fortune, and above all: love. Astrologers look to the placement of Venus in an individual's chart to determine the capacity for love or the representation of love. This is an incredibly accurate methodology that proves itself over and over again. However, since Aquarius is the sign of the humanitarian, the entry of Venus into this slice of the zodiacal pie is even more revealing about the role of Venus and love on a much larger, more humanistic level. So the topic of universal love becomes the theme for the time and urges us to focus on the greater as well as the personal love.

Aquarius is the sign of the broad-reaching thinker; the person who thinks on a higher plane. Rather than spend their time on mundane topics and earthly pursuits, the typical Aquarian looks beyond and searches for higher meaning. Identified as a fixed air-sign, Aquarians strive to raise the dialog. We can see this in famous Aquarians such Franklin Roosevelt. Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Edison. In these people we see an energy and drive towards goals beyond personal successes. Even Barack Obama has the sign of Aquarius on his ascendant (rising sign) and wears it proudly in all that he does.

When we see Venus slipping into Aquarius we witness an opportunity to turn our focus towards the greater rather than the smaller. Of course, this does not negate nor eliminate the need to nurture those closest to us. That should always be a priority. However, with this broad-based theme of agape comes a harmonizing by-product that infuses our culture with a grander purpose and a higher level of connectedness. The fact that this is such a hard-won concept proves just how valuable it truly is. This has been the quest and sole (and soul) purpose of every major religion since time began. And yet it remains elusive as ever. Wars, mass shootings, hate crimes, and the like, continue.

If we can pay attention to the cosmos and join the upcoming optimistic stride we can possibly feel that resonating quality spread. Joining Venus will be Jupiter, the mighty planet of optimism and expansion, which went direct on January 30. Jupiter will be in forward motion, bringing life to stagnant projects. This is an incredibly rich and opportune time to expand and build. All the planets in our cosmic neighborhood will be in forward motion until pesky Mercury goes retrograde in late February. The next three weeks are an optimum time to begin....anything. But why not embrace the concept of agape and see what comes of it? Where is Venus in your chart? Monthly Astrology Forecast ~ February 2013

Week of February 4th

As we approach the Chinese New Year we say goodbye to the year of the Water Dragon and embark on the forthcoming year of the Water Snake. This cycle draws its meaning from the presence of Jupiter as it makes the entire zodiacal journey over the course of twelve years; touching each sign for roughly one year. Since Jupiter is the largest planet in our cosmic neighborhood we can expect big things to happen from its presence. Now that this mighty planet has stationed direct in Gemini and has begun to move forward we can expect to see action, expansion, and great potential come to light. Since the Gemini neighborhood is that of communication we can expect strong talk, new initiatives, and perhaps a vision as we point our sights on the future.

Week of February 11th

Responsibility may be the most prominent characteristic of this week as Saturn and Pluto play off each other. Pluto, the great transformer tears down that which no longer serves us while Saturn rushes to fill the void with rightful actions and duty-bound processes. Saturn's presence, will be augmented by Mars, whose energy is that of action, ambition, and forward motion. As these two planets drift through the water signs we can expect emotional responses and depth. Some of the questions that come to light are how do we communicate with our peers. The new Moon in Aquarius provides the perfect backdrop for restating positive intentions and supporting worthy humanitarian causes.

Week of February 18th

The Sun enters Pisces early in the week and this area of your chart will soon become quite active as we head into the end of the month. A rare collection of planets begin to gather in Pisces which may herald a shift in collective consciousness. Neptune, Mars, Venus, Mercury and the Sun will all be together soon under the sign whose motto is to believe. When planets join together such as this we see a general theme coming to light. With Pisces, the water sign, we come to learn about intuition, wisdom, institutions, dreams, and the unconscious. What does that look like on a larger scale? We are clearly at a significant crossroads where what once worked will no longer sustain. We must accept these facts. As the planet groans under the weight of responsibility we have to face the music with dignity and purpose.

Week of February 25th

The week begins with a Full Moon in Virgo and the themes of service, adaptability and detail are fully present. The saying goes, "that the devil is in the details" so as we work our way through these delicate negotiations we may come to realize that the deeper we investigate, the easier it is to find a compromise. This is a necessary adjustment when the precision of our choices becomes fully apparent. The singular focus comes from the collection of planets in Pisces which stares directly across the wheel at the Full Moon. The Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Neptune are all clustered together in Pisces while the Moon beams in direct contrast to them all. Service may be the word that carries the greatest weight at this time. What does that look like? Is this when we truly come to recognize the weakest link in our delicate fabric?
