Chris Flisher has been a student of astrology ever since he had his first chart done at age 20. At the time, a perfect stranger asked him his astrology coordinates (birthdate /place /time) and within a few days he had the most amazingly accurate account of himself that he had ever read; delivered by a person who had no previous knowledge of him.Chris has spent the rest of his time researching, understanding, and practicing astrology. Much like medicine, astrology is a practice and a deep complex science/art requiring years of experience and research. Astrologers must work with both scientific data and intuition. Chris was recently awarded a "Top Ten Astrologers" award and is celebrating his fourth continuous year of broadcasting as the host of the weekly radio show, "Turning Of The Wheel" on Contact Talk Radio.

"...And as the great wheel turns,"
|
"...we are best prepared when we are best informed." These simple words summarize a method for living that serves quite well as we move through this mortal, yet rapidly changing world. As caustic and unsettling as it may appear on the surface (witness Hurricane Sandy) we also know, that in the end, all will be as it should. Changes are unsettling and jarring, yet they force us awake. Only when our eyes are wide open do we really make progress. Extreme situations bring about extreme solutions.
Quite simply; the roof is leaking and we need to repair it. If the roof were not leaking we would do nothing. However, since we are under duress we must respond. This is how we move. Necessity is a mother and, no doubt, her child will be invention. This is truly the unique relationship between crisis and creativity. One brings forth the other. And hence the wheel great turns.
The end of a yearly cycle sets the stage for this kind of examination and reflection. As we near the end of this most hyped and momentous period we will be facing changes of the highest sort. Resistance to these changes is truly futile. The trial will simply elongate if we resist. Let's dig in get the job done and move forward.
Uranus, the planet of revolution, rebellion, innovation and invention will turn direct on December 13th and we can expect to see a burgeoning blossom of all of those aspects. Rebellion will bring about necessary changes and innovation will bring forth the tools and inventions we need to make that one giant leap. As Uranus moves into closer orb (the distance by degree between planets) with Pluto, the planet of transformation we will see the result of what it means to have reconstruction (for the record, Uranus will be moving from 4 ° Aries up 12 ° Aries by June of 2013 and be in a square to Pluto as it moves as far forward at 11 ° Capricorn while forming an exact square to Uranus at 11 ° on May 15th before starting to retrograde.) This applying pressure of these two planets moving closer to an exact square will bring forth the necessary changes need to begin anew. Reconstruction is a metaphor for rebuilding and renewal and Pluto rules reconstruction. This is a historical cycle and bears noting as the reappearance of this relationship truly spells out renovation. Astrology is about relationships and the dance that incurs as a result, This dance will yield significant, dramatic results.
We will begin to see a shift towards our domestic problems as they draw our attention, building like a hurricane charging up the coast. This astrological forecast becomes the harbinger for a time of change and rebirth, just as this past election illuminated the way forward. Resistance to these ideas only slows the progress. Like the sullen and tired bull under the tree, we must finally come awake by literally dragging that bull by the horns out into the sunlight where we can see our flaws, repair our bridges, invest in our children, rebuild our pride and be who we were meant to be at our beginning. Stubbornness and posturing only slows the inevitable like procrastination. Your homework will still be there Sunday evening, so why not get it done Friday night. Get the job done and do it quickly so we can mend. Politicians need to move quickly so we can solve our problems and begin rebirth. Now.
Sooner or later we must wean ourselves of the military-industrial complex that has become so deeply woven into the fabric of our society. The only way to cut it free is by slow and painful reallocation and repurpose. Our focus must shift to infrastructure and domain and away from intervention and aggression. This is not an opinion. This is a universal reality that is spelled out in the logic of the universe. To every season....and so on.
As 2012 comes to an end and we see the distance we have traveled, we can also see how much more we have to do. The great "end of the world" touted by the Mayan calendar is simply a sensationalized headline-grabbing phrase that spins fear and panic. The "end of the world" is simply an end to the way we have lived. War, destruction, ego, greed, must dissipate and make way for the new. Our roof is leaking and we must repair it. "...And the great wheel turns, we are best prepared when we are best informed."

Monthly Astrology Forecast ~ December 2012
| |
Week of December 3rd
The week begins with the fading winter Sun opposing mighty Jupiter across the zodiac. These two great benefic planets deliver the optimism in our lives, so what does it look like when they oppose each other? Things come to cross-purpose. One step forward; one back. Rather than illuminate the room, the Sun may, instead, cast a hidden shadow. Jupiter, in response may inflate all issues. Dialog on the US stage is likely to become exaggerated under this opposition. Is there reasonable doubt lingering? The cementing word of this period would be diplomacy. Compromise can only come through mutual sacrifice. I mentioned this a few weeks ago and Saturn may tease that type of response out the public discourse. Saturn, along with Mercury and Venus, also in Scorpio, holds the truth to the highest authority and does not bend in its resolve to do just that; resolve.
Week of December 10th
The Moon joins the Sun and then later with Pluto this week for an emotional roller coaster ride. Of course that means they also square Uranus which we know brings about the unexpected. As we struggle to adapt and evolve what do these difficult transists mean? How do they impose themselves on your personal chart? What house is being affected? In the United States we may be faced with foundational changes that force us to re-think our strategy going forward. Are we going forward and if so, at what cost? As is clearly evident in astrology, the forward path is often filled with troubling events that shake us into attention. But this is exactly how things get done. If we are constantly distracted by outside events we will not move forward.
Week of December 17th
Just as the Sun is about to depart Sagittarius and enter into Capricorn and the oncoming Winter Solstice, the Moon joins forces with feisty Uranus in a direct square to Pluto. As you have heard me mention before, a square is a tension point that typically acts like a trigger; or like the match that lights the fuse. So what can we expect from this type of alignment? Well first of all it may be a triggering event that comes from nowhere since that is the realm of Uranus. The unknown, the rebellious, the innovative -those are all areas that Uranus rules. What does that look like? In the chart of the United States in lands across the houses of the ego and the family so we could interpret that to me a restructure of some very fundamental domestic issue. Rather than run to a fear factor we could just as easily run to a fun factor. What would it be like if something truly fun happened? This is how we should think of astrology. Always think of the potential.
Week of December 24th
The Sun aligns in a conjunction with Pluto this week and shines a light on what is being repaired. Pluto represents transformation and although that sounds like a weighty word, it is appropriate. Pluto tears down and then reconstructs. The end result is exactly where we need to be. The hard part is getting there. Like having your kitchen remodeled, you are inconvenienced for a period of time but eventually it all begins to make sense. The harder the battle; the sweeter the victory. At this time of year much of the world is deep into their year-end pageantry and the celebrations signal an opportunity to wipe the slate clean and start anew. Fortunately Pluto is more than happy to oblige. The financial situation in the US is severe, and one that has a deadline looming over the end of the year. Can a compromise be made before the bus skids to a halt at the edge of the cliff?
Week of December 31st
The Moon will be drifting through the sign of Libra in mid-week which brings into a square with Pluto and Mercury which can mean a rather direct conversation. Since the Moon is the embodiment of our emotions we can expect honesty, passion but even a degree of tenderness. Libra is about balance, despite the square to Mercury and Pluto. This may be a time for investigation as Mercury likes to probe and Pluto is very handy at getting beneath the surface. Perhaps a revelation of some sort comes on the heels of the recent election. We should not be surprised by an unexpected or unusual investigation of some sort as Uranus stands in direct opposition to the Moon and continues to square Pluto, now joined by Mercury. This may be all about words and a discovery of some sort.
