FROM OUR CEO
Greetings!

Donna Martin
They're coming! It's almost time for Girl Scout Cookie Booths. Booths will be set up all around eastern
Missouri from February 27-March 17. Be sure to stop and buy some yummy cookies from our girls when you see them outside of your local supermarket, hardware store or convenient store. By purchasing cookies, you're feeding your craving while fueling the girls' future. You're helping the girls learn skills that will help them become leaders later in life.

This year, we are very excited that for the first time, we will be ringing up cookie sales by accepting credit cards at select Cookie Booths using mobile phones and Square. This pilot program will include 20 booths equipped with iPhones and the Square credit card reader. The secure credit card reader attached to a smartphone allowing troops to accept debit and credit cards and email receipts to customers on the spot. For those that want to join the hi-tech sales, everyone will have the option to take orders online soon.

The Cookie Program is one of the first leadership experiences girls have when they join Girl Scouts. They become part of the largest girl-led business in the world and learn valuable skills they'll use throughout their lives. Girls learn goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics, and now, they'll be learning about technology as well. Whether a girl decides to be a CEO, politician, businesswoman or anything else, she'll need those skills to succeed. Tell your friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members to support the Cookie Program and visit booths so we can all help ToGetHerThere.

Best Wishes,

Donna K. Martin
CEO, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri
